Verified ID Online Last Week - No Transcript Updates Yet - Anyone Else?
Verified online last Mon and called today to make sure it went thru OTP, they said I'm verified but no update to the transcript yet. Kinda anxious bc so many ppl say their online verifications aren't actually going thru. Anyone else got their return or a DDD after just verifying online? IRS said it can take up to 9 wks but lots of ppl saying after doing it OTP it went thru faster. Just trying to figure out if I need to call again or just wait it out.

In most cases, the verification process typically takes about 2-3 weeks to fully update in the IRS systems, though this can vary somewhat depending on current processing volumes. The fact that you've received verbal confirmation that your verification was successful is generally a positive indicator. The disconnect between phone confirmation and transcript updates is fairly common, especially during the peak tax season we're currently experiencing. I would suggest giving it at least another week before taking additional steps.

I've been seeing this pattern quite frequently this filing season. According to Internal Revenue Manual section 21.5.6, the verification process can take up to 9 weeks in some cases, though most are resolved much faster. Have you noticed any specific codes appearing on your transcript before or after verification?

Isn't it interesting how the IRS systems don't always communicate with each other in real-time? Your explanation about the disconnect between phone confirmation and transcript updates is exactly what people need to understand. Too many taxpayers panic when they don't see immediate changes.

I was in this exact same situation last month! Verified online, called to confirm, but transcript showed nothing for weeks. I finally used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript once it updated. The tool explained that the 570 code that appeared was just part of the verification process, not an actual problem. Have you checked what codes are on your transcript currently? Did you verify through ID.me or the IRS site directly?

Is this service really worth it? I'm trying to: • Not spend more money when waiting for a refund • Avoid giving personal info to yet another company • Understand if it actually tells you something the IRS doesn't

I used taxr.ai on March 15th after waiting nearly 6 weeks post-verification. It correctly predicted my DDD would be March 22nd based on the cycle code and pending transactions. The IRS website just showed generic information, but taxr.ai explained exactly what each code meant for my specific situation.

When I went through this last year, I waited 4 weeks after online verification with no updates. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get through to an agent without the endless redial game. The agent confirmed my verification was complete in their system but hadn't fully processed. Got my DDD exactly 8 days later. Sometimes their internal systems show more than what we can see on transcripts.

Just went through this whole mess! Verified online April 2nd, called April 10th to confirm, and transcript updated April 16th with a DDD of April 21st. I was literally checking WMR and transcripts every morning with my coffee like it was the morning newspaper 😂 The anxiety is real when you're waiting on that money to pay bills, but it did process without me having to do anything else.

Online verification seems unreliable. Too many glitches. Phone verification gets faster results. System needs overhaul. Anyone else notice this pattern? Wonder if it depends on which tax year or which service center handles your region.

I verified online exactly 26 days ago and by phone 14 days ago. My transcript updated exactly 7 days after phone verification with a 971 notice code, then 3 days later with a 570 code, and finally 4 days after that with an 846 direct deposit code. The entire process took exactly 28 days from initial verification to refund in my account. The online verification DOES work, but the IRS internal processing doesn't instantly reflect in their public-facing systems.

I'm glad you shared your timeline. While I generally agree that both verification methods can work, I should note that there may be variations depending on the complexity of one's return and the current IRS processing backlog. Your experience provides valuable context for others in similar situations.

This is super helpful! Did you notice if your cycle code on the transcript gave any clues about when things would update? I'm trying to figure out if being a weekly or daily updater makes a difference in how quickly verification processes.

Think of the IRS verification system like checking luggage at the airport - your bag (verification) is confirmed as received at check-in (phone call), but it still needs to travel through the conveyor belt system (internal processing) before it reaches your destination (transcript update). The phone agents can see it's in the system, but they can't necessarily speed up the conveyor belt. This is why you're getting conflicting information - you're verified in one system but that information hasn't propagated to all systems yet.
