TurboTax Shows DDD of Feb 13, But IRS Transcript Shows No Record of Filing?

I filed through TurboTax. Got the advance payment through Credit Karma. TurboTax says my estimated DDD is February 13. Everything seems good. But when I check my IRS account, there's no record of my 2024 tax return being filed. My transcript shows nothing. I've double-checked all my info. Triple-checked my math. Quadruple-checked my forms. Why is it not showing up? Anyone else experiencing this?

This happens every year, doesn't it? The IRS systems don't update in real-time, do they? Your return is probably in their processing queue but hasn't been fully integrated into their transcript system yet? Could take a few days to appear after acceptance, couldn't it? I wouldn't worry unless it's been more than a week since your return was accepted by TurboTax.

OMG thank you for saying this! I've been freaking out for the past three days seeing the same thing. My anxiety was through the ROOF thinking they lost my return or something!

I believe this is mostly correct, although I think it's worth noting that there's sometimes a difference between what tax preparation software shows as "accepted" versus what the IRS considers "processed." The IRS might have received your return but not fully processed it into their transcript system yet.

When did you actually file your return? In previous years, I've noticed there can be a 5-7 day delay between when TurboTax says your return was accepted and when it appears in the IRS transcript system. The advance payment from Credit Karma is based on TurboTax's confirmation, not necessarily the IRS processing being complete.

Thanks for asking this. I filed last Thursday, so it's been about 6 days. That makes me feel better knowing there's usually a delay.

Same thing happened to me. Filed January 29th. Nothing on transcript for a week. Then suddenly appeared. Got my refund three days later. Don't worry too much yet.

But isn't it weird that TurboTax would give a specific direct deposit date if the IRS hasn't even processed it yet? When I did my state taxes, they didn't give a date until it was actually accepted by the state system.

I've seen this happen quite a bit. The IRS systems are notoriously slow to update during peak filing season. If you're really concerned and want to confirm your return is actually in their system, you might want to try Claimyr (https://claimyr.com). I was in a similar situation last year and spent hours trying to get through to an IRS agent on the phone. Claimyr got me connected to an agent in about 20 minutes who confirmed my return was in their system but just hadn't updated in the transcript database yet.

Is this service actually legit? Seems like something I could do myself if I just kept calling the IRS. What does it actually do that makes it worth paying for?

I used Claimyr last April when I had a similar issue with my amended return not showing up. It navigates the IRS phone tree and waits on hold for you, then calls you when an agent is available. Saved me literally hours of hold time. With filing deadlines approaching, I couldn't afford to spend half my day on hold.

This is a common issue during the early weeks of tax season. The IRS processing systems and the transcript database don't sync in real-time. Have you checked the Where's My Refund tool at irs.gov? That sometimes updates before the transcript system does. Also, if you've created your IRS online account recently, sometimes there's an additional verification period before all your information becomes visible.

Did you file with any special credits or deductions? Child Tax Credit? Earned Income Credit? Home office deduction? Sometimes those trigger additional verification that delays processing. And by delays, I mean your return gets to enjoy an extended vacation in the IRS processing center before it shows up in your transcript. 😂

I had this exact situation last year with the Child Tax Credit. Transcript showed nothing for almost 2 weeks after TurboTax said I was accepted. Then suddenly one day everything appeared and my refund was deposited 3 days later.

I had this exact problem last week. Filed on Jan 25th, TurboTax said accepted same day, got my advance from Credit Karma too. My transcript showed nothing until Feb 2nd. Then suddenly everything appeared at once. My actual direct deposit came on Feb 5th. The IRS systems are just slow to update their transcript database during peak filing season.

So your actual deposit date was different than what TurboTax estimated? Was it earlier or later?

This happened to me too. TurboTax said February 1st, but I didn't get my refund until February 8th. The IRS doesn't always stick to the tax preparer's estimate.

The IRS started accepting returns on January 29th. If you filed before that date, TurboTax held your return. It might have only been transmitted on the 29th. Add 5-7 business days for processing. Your transcript should update by February 7th. If not, then start worrying. The advance from Credit Karma is based on TurboTax's assessment, not the IRS.
