Transcript Still Showing Blank for Cycle 0605 - Anyone Else? 😩

I filed on March 2nd and my transcript is still completely blank for cycle 0605. I checked again this morning at exactly 6:00 AM and nothing has changed since last week! This is my third tax season in the US and never had this problem before. I have all my documents properly submitted and even got confirmation number. I know it's my right to get information about my own tax return! Anybody else stuck in this same cycle? 😩

The cycle code 0605 refers to processing that typically happens on Thursdays. Think of the IRS processing system like a train schedule - different trains (cycles) run on different days of the week. Your return is essentially waiting for its train to arrive and complete its journey. This waiting period is normal, especially if you filed with certain credits or deductions that require additional verification. The blank transcript simply means your return hasn't been fully processed through the system yet, not that there's anything wrong with your filing.

This is absolutely correct. Per IRS Publication 1345 section 3.12, cycle codes indicate when your return will be processed in their weekly batches. I had the exact same situation last year - filed February 15th and my transcript stayed blank until April 1st. Then it suddenly populated with all information at once and I received my refund 8 days later.

Is cycle 0605 typically slower than other cycles? I'm in 0705 and wondering if that's why mine updated faster than what others are reporting.

I've seen this exact situation at least a dozen times this season. Last year I had a client whose transcript stayed blank for 45 days before suddenly updating with everything at once. What really helped me understand what was happening behind the scenes was using https://taxr.ai to analyze the transcript once it finally appeared. It decoded all the transaction codes and explained the exact processing path the return had taken. I was shocked by how complex the IRS internal routing can be - turns out many returns get flagged for extra verification even when nothing is wrong!

Is this service actually worth it? I'm trying to save money, not spend more on top of already paying for tax prep software. Does it tell you anything you couldn't find by just googling the codes?

I appreciate the suggestion! I used taxr.ai when my 846 code finally appeared but had a weird date offset. The automated analysis correctly identified it was due to a weekend processing delay and gave me the exact DD date. The TC 570/571 sequence had me slightly worried until I understood what was happening.

I waited exactly 37 days with a blank transcript before I decided to call the IRS. After trying for 3 days and being disconnected 7 times, I found https://claimyr.com which connected me to an agent in exactly 28 minutes. Are you sure you're looking at the 2024 transcript and not 2023? The agent confirmed my return was in processing and explained that cycle 0605 was experiencing a 42-day average processing time this year.

Paying to talk to the IRS? Couldn't you just keep calling yourself? Is this even a legitimate service or just another way to get money from anxious taxpayers?

I was skeptical too but after spending 6 hours over 2 days trying to get through, I tried Claimyr last week. They called me back when they had an agent on the line. The agent confirmed my return was selected for manual review due to a mismatch between my W-2 and what my employer reported. Would have never known this without speaking to someone, and I was able to contact my employer to fix the issue right away instead of waiting months for a letter.

I tracked my transcript status meticulously through the 0605 cycle last year. The Account Transcript remained blank for 32 days, then suddenly populated with TC 150 (Return Filed), TC 806 (Withholding Credit), and TC 570 (Additional Account Action Pending) all on the same day. Three days later, I received TC 571 (Resolved Additional Account Action) followed by TC 846 (Refund Issued). The pattern suggests systematic batch processing rather than individual return handling. My advice: create a Transaction Code checklist so you can quickly identify your status once the transcript populates.

According to the IRS2Go app and the official IRS processing status page (https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions), cycle 0605 is experiencing longer than normal processing times. I've been researching this issue and found that checking your transcript too frequently can sometimes trigger security flags in their system. Maybe try waiting 3-4 days between checks? I'm cautious about suggesting this since it's not officially confirmed, but several forum discussions on r/tax and the TaxProTalk website mention this as a potential issue.

I've seen this specific issue with cycle 0605 before. Here's what you should do step-by-step: 1. First, verify you're checking the correct tax year (2024 for returns filed in 2025) 2. Check your return status using Where's My Refund tool rather than just the transcript 3. Confirm your filing was actually accepted (not just submitted) via your tax software 4. Look for any emails from your tax software about filing status 5. Wait until at least 21 days have passed before becoming concerned I'm worried that with the current backlog, many cycle 0605 returns are taking 6-8 weeks to process. This could impact your financial planning if you were counting on that refund soon.
