Cycle Code 0605 - Anyone Get Their Refund Date Yet?

I have been checking my tax transcripts every day since I filed on January 24th, 2024. My cycle code shows 0605 and all transcripts are available, but I am still waiting for the 846 refund issued code to appear! It has been exactly 53 days since I submitted through TurboTax. This is my second time filing taxes in the United States, and last year the process was much faster. Has anyone with the same cycle code received their refund date yet? I am providing all details in case it helps others in similar situation.

I'm in the same boat with cycle code 0605! 😂 Been refreshing my transcript like it's social media. The good news is that having transcripts available usually means you're in the final stretch. My tax guy said most 0605 folks are getting their 846 codes on Thursday/Friday updates this year.

I might be able to offer some insight, though I'm not 100% certain. Cycle code 0605 typically means your account updates weekly, not daily. The "05" part indicates Friday updates. You might want to check your transcript Friday mornings instead of daily... could save you some stress and time.

Does this mean I'll definitely get my refund next Friday? I'm in the exact same situation with 0605 and I NEED this money by the 15th for rent! Filed January 29th and transcript shows processing but no 846 code yet.

Interesting about the Friday updates! I've been checking randomly throughout the week. Do you know what time on Fridays they typically update the system? Is it midnight or during business hours?

Weekly updates confirmed. System refreshes Thursday night. Visible Friday morning. Been this way for years. Calling doesn't speed it up.

I had cycle code 0605 last year and waited 7 weeks for my refund. Got tired of checking and called the IRS directly. Wasted 3 hours on hold before getting disconnected. Then I tried Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got through to an agent in 18 minutes. The agent confirmed my return was just waiting for final review and would be approved within the week. True to their word, my 846 code appeared 5 days later.

I've heard about these IRS call services but I'm concerned about giving my information to a third party. How does it actually work? Do they listen to your call or access your tax info?

Thank you for sharing this! I've been trying to reach the IRS for two weeks about my similar situation. Called 11 times yesterday alone. Going to try this service right now because my patience is completely gone.

Cycle code 0605 is actually processing faster than some others this year. My sister has 0705 and filed a week before you, still no transcripts at all. The key thing to watch for is if you see code 570 (refund hold) or 971 (notice issued). If you don't have those, you're likely just in normal processing. Compare that to returns with EITC/ACTC which were legally held until February 15th regardless of filing date.

Do you know if having a code 570 means there's definitely a problem? My transcript updated with 570 last week but I haven't received any notice in the mail yet. Should I be worried?

According to Internal Revenue Manual 21.4.1, cycle code 0605 indicates your return is processed in the weekly cycle that posts on Friday. The first two digits (06) represent the day of the week (Thursday night/Friday morning) and the last two digits (05) represent the year (2025). The IRS typically updates transcripts between 12am-6am EST on Fridays for 0605 cycle taxpayers. Based on current processing timelines published in IRS Bulletin 2024-11, returns filed in late January should receive determination by mid-April absent any compliance flags.

I had the same cycle code last year, and it seems like the system might be a bit backed up this filing season. My refund eventually appeared about 8 weeks after filing, which was longer than I expected but still within what the IRS considers "normal" processing time. Your transcripts being available is generally a good sign though!

Just to clarify something important - cycle code 0605 means your account updates on the weekly cycle (not daily), specifically on Thursday night/Friday morning. The exact processing time is averaging 37.2 days for simple returns and 51.8 days for returns with credits based on the latest data. Having your transcripts available with no 570/971 codes is a positive indicator that you're simply in queue for final processing.

OMG I feel your pain! 😫 I've been checking WMR and transcripts obsessively for weeks now with the same cycle code. The community wisdom here is that most of us 0605 people are getting bunched together for processing. Last year there was a huge batch of 0605 refunds that all got their 846 codes on the same Friday. Fingers crossed we're all in this week's batch! 🤞
