PSA: Refunds delayed for 2024 tax year - Just got off phone with IRS
Just spent 3 hours waiting only to get through to a rep who said everyone will be experiencing delays with refunds this year due to some new verification process.Anyone else heard about this? I tried asking for specifics but got transferred and disconnected.

This is completely false information. The IRS has not announced any universal delays for 2024 tax season. They are actually increasing staff and resources this year to process returns more efficiently. Don't spread misinformation based on one confusing phone call.
