PSA: No 846 Code = No Direct Deposit Date (annual reminder)
Just want to save everyone some time and frustration - been seeing lots of questions about deposit dates. If you check your transcript and dont see code 846, you dont have a deposit date yet. Keep checking, but thats the magic number youre looking for!

Tax professional here. This is absolutely correct. Code 846 is the refund issued code that shows your direct deposit date. Without this code, your return is still being processed or under review. Keep in mind processing times can vary significantly based on your filing situation.
