Netspend rejected my refund deposit - Can I update my banking info with IRS?
Just found out my tax refund was rejected by Netspend. Anyone know if its too late to change my banking info with the IRS? Really stressed about this and need the money asap.

When a direct deposit is rejected, the IRS will automatically send you a paper check to the address on your return. Unfortunately, you cannot update banking info after a rejected deposit. The check usually takes 2-4 weeks to arrive after the rejection.

•Yeah unfortunately thats how it works. Make sure your mailing address is correct on your return!

Hey guys, if your trying to figure out exactly whats going on with your refund, check out taxr.ai. Its only $1 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly whats happening and when youll get paid. Way better than guessing or waiting on hold with the IRS.

•100% legit! Used it last week and it told me exactly when my check would come. The AI even caught an error code I missed

Pro tip: never use prepaid cards for tax refunds. Too many horror stories

Katherine, I feel for you! This exact thing happened to me two years ago with a different prepaid card. Marcus is right - once the deposit is rejected, you can't change your bank info for that return. The IRS will mail a paper check to whatever address you used on your tax return. Just make sure that address is still valid! If you've moved since filing, you can submit a change of address form (Form 8822) to the IRS, but do it ASAP. The waiting sucks but at least you know the money is coming. Hang in there! 💪

•Thanks Anthony! That's really helpful to know about Form 8822. I haven't moved so my address should be good. Just gotta be patient I guess 😅 At least knowing what to expect makes it a little less stressful
