Need help amending taxes to get code 846 but $250 tax prep fee is too expensive
Anyone know how to get an amended return filed without paying so much? Been waiting on my refund and I know I need to amend to fix some errors but everywhere wants $250+ to do it. Really need that 846 code to show up but stuck because of the prep fees.

You might want to look into VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) programs in your area. They offer free tax preparation services if you make under $58,000 annually. They can help with amendments too. Just keep in mind they usually operate during regular tax season, so you might need to wait until January.

Whatever you do dont try to DIY your amendment without knowing exactly what your doing. I tried that last year and made everything worse lol
