Need direct phone number to reach actual IRS agent - tired of automated system
Been trying to reach the IRS for 3 weeks straight. Every time I call the main number I get stuck in this endless loop of automated messages. I've tried all the prompts but can never get to a real person. Anyone know the secret to getting through to an actual human agent? Starting to lose my mind here

Try calling 1-800-829-1040 between 7am-7pm local time. Select language option (1 for English), then press 2-1-3-2. Don't enter SSN when prompted - wait for it to ask 2 more times. After third prompt, press 2 then 4. This usually gets you to a human, but be prepared to wait 30-120 minutes. Best times to call are Tuesday-Thursday early morning or right before closing.
