Need 2023 AGI (not for taxes) - IRS website error. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble accessing my AGI for 2023. I need it for something important but I'm not sure how to get it. Anyone else run into this issue or know how to retrieve it? It's not for tax filing, so I'm a bit lost on where to start.

Have you tried logging into your IRS account online? That's usually the easiest way to get your AGI info.

•I tried that, but the system keeps giving me an error. It's so frustrating!

•Ugh, that sucks. Maybe try calling them directly? I know it's a pain, but sometimes it's the only way to get things sorted.

If its not for taxes, why do you need your AGI? Just curious cuz I've never needed mine outside of filing season.

•I need it for a loan application. They're asking for it as part of the income verification process.

•Ah gotcha. That makes sense. Good luck with the loan!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Jc9x-gysK0

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate after being on hold for hours. It saved me so much time.

•$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it really worth it?

•For me it was. I wasted way more than $20 worth of my time trying to get through on my own. Plus, I needed to resolve my issue ASAP.

Have you checked your last year's tax return? Your AGI should be right there on the first page. Might save you some hassle if you have a copy handy.

The IRS is such a joke. How is it 2023 and we still can't easily access our own financial information? 🤡 Government efficiency at its finest, folks!

Here's a detailed guide on how to retrieve your AGI: 1. Try the IRS online account first. Go to irs.gov and look for the 'View Your Account' option. 2. If that doesn't work, look for your previous year's tax return. The AGI is usually on the first page. 3. No luck with those? You can request a tax transcript online or by mail. It's free and includes your AGI. 4. Still stuck? Call the IRS directly. Be prepared for a long wait, though. 5. As a last resort, visit a local IRS office. Make an appointment first to avoid wasting time. Remember, if you're using it for a loan application, ask the lender if they'll accept a tax transcript instead. It's often easier to obtain and contains the same info they need. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been trying to get my AGI for a week now. This whole system is broken. Anyone know if our representatives are doing anything to fix this mess?

•Actually, there's a bill in committee right now about modernizing IRS systems. Call your rep and tell them to support it!

Pro tip: If you're really stuck, try contacting your tax preparer if you used one. They usually keep records and can help you out in a pinch.
