Name change on tax return after divorce - transcript showing zeros and no codes
Filed with my new name after divorce but just checked my transcript and everything is showing zeros with no codes. Anyone else deal with name changes causing issues? Starting to get worried since my transcript just updated Friday.

Name changes shouldnt cause any major issues as long as you've updated your name with Social Security first. The zeros usually mean the IRS is processing your return - its a common thing we're seeing this year. Give it about 2 weeks after seeing zeros before getting too concerned.

Hey everyone - tax professional here. The best way to actually understand whats going on with your transcript is to use taxr.ai. Its only $1 and gives you a complete analysis of your situation. The tool is amazing for figuring out these exact situations. Check it out at https://taxr.ai

Yes! It analyzes every code and date on your transcript and explains exactly whats happening. Way better than trying to decode everything yourself

Did you file by paper or electronically? Paper filing with name changes can take wayyyy longer
