Jackson Hewitt took my state refund for RAL advance without telling me - anyone else?
Filed with Jackson Hewitt and got a refund advance. Been waiting on my state refund that was sent January 28th. After calling everywhere today found out they took my state refund to pay back the advance through Republic Bank without even letting me know. Their account got it instead of mine. Posting this so others know what might be happening to their state refund if they got the advance.

Tax preparer here - this is unfortunately common with Refund Advance Loans (RALs). The fine print in your agreement likely states they can use both federal AND state refunds to cover the advance. Always read the full contract carefully. These companies are required to disclose this, but they often bury it in the paperwork.
