I'm overseas and need to send in 83b to IRS. If I print out the form, sign it, and then scan it. Could I have my sister send in a copy? Or do I have to FedEx her the originals to send in? (instructions say I should send 2 copies certified USPS to IRS, that's why I plan to send to her first but the language of copies and originals is not clear). TIA

Hello Becky! You would need to mail the original certified to the IRS and a certified copy to the Employer. The best practice is to send the election form through certified mail with a return receipt in case you need to prove it was sent out by a particular date.
