IRS.gov Website Error - PDF Links for Tax Transcripts Not Working When Clicked, Need for Mortgage Application

Been trying to access my transcripts all day on IRS.gov but the site keeps giving me some weird error message. I can log in just fine but when I try to click on the transcript button nothing happens. I can see all my available transcripts listed on the page: Account Transcripts These transcripts show changes you or the IRS made after the original return was filed, such as making estimated tax payments or filing an amended return. Available transcripts: 2024 Account Transcript [PDF] EN 2023 Account Transcript [PDF] EN 2022 Account Transcript [PDF] EN 2021 Account Transcript [PDF] EN Show more transcripts Return Transcripts These transcripts show most line items from your Form 1040-series tax return as it was originally filed, including associated forms and schedules. Lending institutions offering mortgages often accept return transcripts. Available transcripts: 2024 Return Transcript [PDF] EN 2023 Return Transcript [PDF] EN 2022 Return Transcript [PDF] EN 2021 Return Transcript [PDF] EN Wage & Income Transcripts The problem is when I click on any of these PDF links, absolutely nothing happens. No download, no error message, just nothing. I really need these for my mortgage application - specifically the Return Transcripts since the page says "Lending institutions offering mortgages often accept return transcripts." I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and even Edge browsers with the same result. I've cleared my cache and cookies but still having the issue. Anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix it? Is the IRS system down? I need these documents ASAP.

This is a common issue rn with the IRS site. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies first. If that doesnt work, try using a different browser (Chrome works best for me). Also make sure you're not using a VPN - the IRS site doesn't play nice with those.

Hey everyone - I had the same issue but found an easier solution. I started using taxr.ai to analyze my transcripts, its way better than dealing with the IRS website headaches. It costs $1 but totally worth it since it actually explains everything in plain english https://taxr.ai

Yeah! You just upload your transcript and it breaks everything down - tells you exactly where your refund is stuck and why. Better than playing detective on your own fr fr

I literally JUST fixed this! Go to your security settings and make sure pop-ups are allowed for irs.gov. That was my issue for like a week straight
