IRS 2023 Transcripts Not Showing Up - Need for Loan ASAP! Help!

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I need my 2023 tax transcripts ASAP for a loan application, but they're not showing up in the system. I've got less than 24 hours to get this sorted out. Has anyone else run into this issue? I'm wondering if there's a way to get the account management portion completed like they did for 2022. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling the IRS directly? Sometimes they can expedite things if you explain it's for a time-sensitive loan.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been trying to get through to them all day, but the wait times are insane. 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You might have better luck getting through!

That's a great idea! I'll set my alarm and give it a shot tomorrow. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Jc9x-gysK0

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I'm skeptical. How do we know this isn't just a scam?

I get the skepticism, but I can vouch for it. Used it twice now and it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imho.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they just keep redialing until they get through?

From what I understand, they use some kind of automated system to navigate the phone tree and wait on hold. When a real person picks up, it connects to your phone. Pretty nifty!

Have you checked if there's an online portal where you can request the transcripts? Sometimes that's faster than dealing with phone calls.

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in the IRS system for some 2023 returns. I had to file a form 4506-T to request the transcript manually. It's a pain, but it might be your best bet if you're in a time crunch.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard about that glitch. How long did it take to get your transcripts after filing the 4506-T?

It took about 10 business days for me. Not ideal if you need it tomorrow, but might be worth a shot if your lender can give you an extension.

The IRS is such a joke 🤡 Why can't they get their act together? We're living in 2023 and they still can't manage basic tech stuff. smh

Preach! 🙌 I've been dealing with them for months trying to sort out an identity theft issue. It's like talking to a brick wall.

To be fair, they're dealing with millions of returns and constant budget cuts. But yeah, it sucks when you're the one caught in the middle of it.

Here's what I would do in your situation: 1. Try the IRS website one more time. Sometimes it updates overnight. 2. Call the IRS first thing in the morning (like others suggested). 3. Reach out to your loan officer and explain the situation. They might have workarounds or be willing to give you an extension. 4. If all else fails, file the 4506-T form ASAP and ask your lender if they can accept that as proof that you're working on getting the transcript. 5. Consider using a tax advocate service. They can sometimes expedite these kinds of requests. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Solid advice right here 👆 Especially the part about talking to the loan officer. Communication is key in these situations.

This is why I always keep paper copies of EVERYTHING. Call me old school, but it's saved my butt more than once.
