TaxAct Return Accepted But Nothing Showing on IRS Transcript?

Has anybody possibly filed with TaxAct this season and experienced a similar issue where the IRS systems aren't showing any information yet? My return was technically accepted according to TaxAct (about 10 days ago), but when I try to check my transcript online, there's literally nothing showing up for 2023. I'm somewhat concerned because I'm relatively new to filing in the US system, and I'm not entirely sure if this delay is normal or potentially problematic. I've checked maybe 4-5 times in the past week, and I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed by the lack of visibility into the process...

According to the IRS2Go app and several posts on the IRS subreddit, this is actually quite common right now. The IRS systems often have a delay between acceptance (which just means they received your e-file) and actual processing (when it shows on transcripts). According to the IRS website (https://www.irs.gov/refunds), it can take up to 21 days for your return to fully process and appear in their systems. Have you checked the Where's My Refund tool as well?

This happened to me last year too, but with TurboTax instead of TaxAct. My return was "accepted" but nothing showed on transcripts for almost 2 weeks. Then everything suddenly appeared all at once.

Is it exactly 10 days since acceptance? And when you say nothing is showing, is that for the 2023 Record of Account transcript specifically, or all transcript types? I'm in a similar situation at exactly 12 days with nothing showing.

Isn't it frustrating when they tell you it's "accepted" but then there's no actual evidence in their system? I had the same issue last year and was pulling my hair out checking multiple times a day. Have you tried using https://taxr.ai to analyze your situation? It helped me understand what was happening with my transcripts once they finally appeared. It explained all those cryptic codes and gave me a much clearer timeline than the IRS site. Wouldn't it be nice if the IRS just communicated clearly in the first place?

I need answers NOW, not when my transcript finally decides to show up! I've been waiting 14 days already with TaxAct saying "accepted" but NOTHING on the IRS site. Has this taxr thing actually helped anyone get their refund faster? Or does it just explain why you're waiting?

I may be mistaken, but I believe this tool only works once your transcript actually appears... which doesn't solve the current problem of nothing showing up yet. Perhaps it's useful later in the process though?

Had same problem. Filed with TaxAct too. Nothing for two weeks. Called IRS many times. Always busy. Found Claimyr service. Got through in 30 minutes. Agent confirmed return was received. Just backlogged. Not rejected. Worth the peace of mind. https://www.claimyr.com

Hmm idk about paying just to talk to the IRS tho? Like isn't that what our taxes are for lol. Did they actually tell u anything useful or just the standard "keep waiting" response?

I'm somewhat curious about this service - did you possibly have to provide any personal information to them? And was the fee reasonable for what you got? I might consider this if my transcript doesn't update in the next week or so.

I had exactly this issue with TaxAct this year. Filed February 2nd, accepted same day, but transcript showed nothing until February 22nd. Then suddenly everything appeared at once and my refund was deposited two days later. The system is just overwhelmed right now. As long as you got an acceptance confirmation, your return is in their system somewhere.

Have you tried checking your account transcript instead of return transcript? Sometimes one updates before the other. Also, try checking the Where's My Refund tool at different times of day - they update their systems overnight, so morning checks often show new information. I always save a PDF of my acceptance confirmation just in case I need to prove when I filed.

The IRS processing pipeline has multiple stages that aren't visible to taxpayers. E-file acceptance only confirms successful transmission to IRS servers (Stage 1). Transcript visibility requires passing through initial validation (Stage 2) and entering the processing queue (Stage 3). During peak filing periods (February-April), the time between Stages 1 and 3 averages 14-21 days for returns without complexities. My TaxAct return from February 8th didn't appear on transcripts until February 25th, then processed with DD on March 1st.
