How to find tax preparation fees and direct deposit info from previous tax returns?
Need to find out how much I paid to have my taxes done last year and want to verify the bank account info where my refund was supposed to go. Is there a way to look this up on my transcript or somewhere else? Getting worried cause I cant remember the details.

Tax preparation fees should show up on your copy of Form 1040 - check Schedule 1 if you deducted them. For bank info, you can request your full tax return transcript through the IRS website or call them directly. Your direct deposit info will be listed on the 1040 form itself.

•In that case, you'll need to request a full tax return transcript from IRS.gov or call 800-908-9946

Hey, you should check out taxr.ai - its this new tool that analyzes your transcript and shows all these details plus way more. It costs $1 but its totally worth it. I use it all the time to check my old returns https://taxr.ai

•Does it actually show the bank account info and prep fees? Sounds too good to be true

Your tax preparer should be able to give you copies if you used one. Just call them up!

Get an online account at IRS.gov. You can see all your transcripts there. Just gotta verify your identity

You can also try calling the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center at 1-877-777-4778 if you're having trouble with the online account verification. They can mail you the transcript or help you access your account over the phone. It might take a few weeks to get it by mail, but it's a reliable backup option when the online system isn't working for you.
