How to check tax agent fees and track state refund destination?

Filed my taxes and trying to figure out where my state refund is going and how much these tax agents charged me. Been looking through my transcript but its confusing. Anyone know where to find this info or how to read these codes?

Tax professional here. You'll need to look at your Account Transcript for the specific year. Look for TC codes 960 which shows tax preparation fees if they were taken from your refund. For state refund info, you'll need to check your state's department of revenue website - IRS transcripts won't show state refund details.

For CA go to ftb.ca.gov and use their 'Check Refund Status' tool. You'll need your SSN and refund amount to check 👍

Hey, I was in the same boat last week trying to figure out these confusing transcripts. I found this tool called taxr.ai that basically reads your transcript and breaks everything down - fees, refund routing, everything. It costs $4.99 but saved me hours of headache. https://taxr.ai

Does it actually work? These tools usually just take ur money and give generic info 🙄

It's legit fr fr! Shows you exactly where your money is going, explains all the codes, and even predicts when you'll get paid. Way better than trying to decode everything yourself

How secure is it? Like with uploading transcripts and stuff?

Super secure! They don't store your docs and use bank-level encryption. Plus they're IRS authorized 💯

lol good luck getting any clear info from the IRS 🤡 been trying to figure out my transcript for 3 months

Your tax preparer should have given you a breakdown of all fees when you filed. Check your paperwork or email them.

Just had this issue myself! The fees should be listed on your Form 8879 if you did e-file. As for state refund, each state has its own tracker - what state u in?
