How long does Injured Spouse Form 8379 take to process? Timeline needed
Filed my taxes with an injured spouse form about 2 months ago and still havent heard anything. Getting worried cause we really need this money. Has anyone filed injured spouse before and know how long this usually takes? The wmr tool just says processing and I'm starting to lose my mind checking everyday

Injured spouse claims typically take 11-14 weeks to process from the date of filing. If you filed electronically, you're looking at about 11 weeks. Paper filing can take up to 14 weeks or longer. The best way to track progress is through your transcript, not WMR, since WMR doesn't update properly for injured spouse claims.

•Your transcript will show if they received it. You can pull it from irs.gov if you have an account

Hey there! I know the waiting game is brutal. I actually found this amazing tool called taxr.ai that helped me understand exactly what was happening with my injured spouse claim. It cost a buck but totally worth it - gave me a precise timeline and explained everything in my transcript. Way better than trying to decode everything myself! https://taxr.ai

•Fr fr it works! I was skeptical too but it literally saved me hours of googling and stressing. It showed me exactly where my form was in processing and when to expect my refund

•youll get a letter in the mail. but honestly just check your transcript or use that taxr.ai thing someone mentioned above. I wish I had that last year would've saved me so much stress

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my injured spouse form in December and it's been crickets ever since. The anxiety is real when you're counting on that money. From what I've researched, the processing times can vary wildly depending on how backed up they are. I've been checking my transcript weekly (much more reliable than WMR like others mentioned) and at least I can see they received everything. Hang in there - we're all in this waiting game together! 🤞
