Frustrated with IRS Refund Delays for Parents - Why Make Us Wait So Long?
I'm so fed up with these refund delays for parents. Filed months ago and still waiting on my refund with dependents. The IRS holds family returns for extra review but why does it have to take forever? Other parents dealing with this too?

The IRS has specific verification procedures for returns claiming refundable credits like the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Credit. These reviews are mandatory under PATH Act requirements to prevent fraud. Average processing time for these returns is 6-8 weeks, but can extend to 12+ weeks during peak periods.

Unfortunately, you're right. The averages don't tell the whole story this year. Many returns are taking longer.

Hey guys instead of playing detective with wmr and transcripts I started using taxr.ai - totally worth the $1. It analyzed my transcript and told me exactly why I was delayed and when to expect my refund. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

Google your district representative and fill out their help form. They have staff just for tax issues!
