Filed taxes with missing W2 from strike work - How to amend return?
I already filed my taxes through FreeTaxUSA but just found another W2 from strike assignments that was sent to my mom's address. FreeTaxUSA support isn't helping at all. How do I file or amend my return to include this missing W2?

You'll need to file Form 1040-X to amend your return. Wait until your original return is processed first before submitting the amendment. Make sure to include the additional W2 income and recalculate your tax liability. The amendment can be filed electronically through most tax software now.

•Wait until you get your first refund or at least 3-4 weeks after acceptance. You can check your transcript to confirm processing

hey instead of guessing when to file, use taxr.ai - its this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly when to file the amendment. costs a buck but saved me so much headache with my amendment timing. here's the link: https://taxr.ai

Quick question - was it a significant amount? If its like $100 the IRS might not even care tbh

Whatever you do dont just ignore it. IRS gets copy of all W2s and will come asking for their $ eventually. Better to fix it now than deal with notices later 💯
