IRS Says "No Record" of My Return But WMR Shows "Accepted" Since January 27 - What's Going On?

My return was accepted on January 27, 2025, but the refund is still not approved. Nothing changed from last year - same job, same deductions, no life changes. The WMR tool just shows accepted but processing. Starting to get worried since last year it was way faster. I received a letter from the IRS stating: "Information About the Request We Received. On January 27, 2025, we received a request for verification of non-filing of a tax return. As of the date of this letter, we have no record of a processed tax return for the tax period listed above." This is confusing because my return WAS accepted according to the WMR tool, but this letter says they have "no record of a processed tax return." How can it be both accepted AND not on file? The letter even provides a number to call (800-829-1040) for questions, but we all know how impossible it is to get through to the IRS. Is my return lost in their system? Should I file again? The timing is very strange because the letter mentions the exact date my return was accepted. Has anyone else experienced this contradiction between the WMR tool showing "accepted/processing" while simultaneously receiving a letter claiming no record of your return?
