Filed on 2/12 and STILL no transcript or WMR update - worst filing date ever?

Seriously regretting filing on February 12th now. It's been over 2 months and I STILL have no transcript available for 2023 and Where's My Refund hasn't updated at all. Just stuck on the first bar "Return Received". Starting to think 2/12 was the cursed date to file this year. Anyone else file around then and actually get their refund? I'm starting to lose my mind checking every morning only to see the same damn thing. 🤬

Filing in early-mid February can sometimes put you in a processing queue that gets delayed. The IRS typically has peak volume around this time which can slow things down. Have you checked your Account transcript (not just Return transcript)? Sometimes that will show pending actions even when the Return transcript shows N/A.

I filed 2/14 and just got my deposit yesterday. Did you claim any credits like EIC or Child Tax Credit? Those can add extra processing time. Also, did you get an acceptance confirmation from your tax software when you filed?

Yeah I got the acceptance email right away. I claimed Child Tax Credit for my daughter. Did you have any updates on WMR before you got your deposit or did it just show up?

Mine updated about 10 days before the deposit. WMR showed the second bar, then the third bar appeared 3 days before deposit. But my sister filed 2/10 and her refund just appeared with no updates on WMR at all. The system is super inconsistent this year.

I was in the same boat after filing on 2/13. Tried calling the IRS for weeks with no luck - constant busy signals or disconnects. Finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to get through to an agent. They confirmed my return was in the system but had been selected for additional review. Nothing wrong, just random selection. Refund came two weeks after that call. Saved me from weeks more of uncertainty.

How much does Claimyr cost? Is it worth it?

It was around $20 when I used it. Totally worth it considering I spent hours trying to get through on my own. The agent was able to tell me exactly what was happening with my return, which gave me peace of mind. Plus I probably spent more than $20 worth of my time trying to call before that.

Have you checked your tax transcripts directly? Sometimes WMR doesn't update but your transcript will show processing codes. I had a similar issue and used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript - it explained all the codes and showed me my return was actually being processed despite WMR showing nothing. Gave me an estimated date that ended up being spot on.

I've been trying to access my transcript but it keeps saying "N/A" for 2023. That's part of what's freaking me out - like they don't even have my return in the system or something.

If you got an acceptance confirmation, they definitely have it. The N/A usually means it's in the processing queue but hasn't been assigned to a specific department yet. Once it moves forward, your transcript will suddenly appear with several codes all at once. taxr.ai really helped me understand what was happening when mine finally updated.

I filed 2/11 and just got my deposit last week. No WMR updates at all until 2 days before the money hit my account. The IRS is seriously backed up this year - I heard they had staffing issues at several processing centers. Hang in there!

Check if you have any past due debts that might trigger an offset (student loans, child support, etc). Those can cause delays because your return gets routed through an additional review process. Also, if you filed by paper instead of e-file, add at least 6-8 weeks to the normal processing time.

Definitely e-filed, and I don't have any debts that would cause an offset. Just seems like I'm in some kind of processing limbo.
