Filed last night and REFUSING to check WMR or transcripts this season
The IRS took me through hell the last 2 tax seasons...I filed and got accepted last night...I will NOT check WMR or my transcript, hopefully it'll just appear in my account on 3/5 or sooner...am I the only one who feels like this right now?

You're definitely not alone! I've developed the same strategy after going crazy refreshing WMR every hour last year. Filed in February, didn't check anything, and boom - deposit showed up 18 days later. The constant checking just adds anxiety and doesn't make the money come any faster.

I'm the complete opposite lol. I check WMR and transcripts multiple times daily. It's like my morning coffee routine now 😂 But I totally get why you're avoiding it. The IRS has been a nightmare these past couple years.

I was exactly like you last year! Checking constantly, setting alarms to check at midnight when transcripts updated...drove myself and my partner insane. Never again!

Smart approach honestly. The IRS processing systems are working much more efficiently this year compared to the disaster of 2021-2023. Most straightforward returns are processing in 14-21 days. The "check constantly" approach is a psychological trap that only increases anxiety without changing outcomes.

I was in your exact position last tax season. Drove myself crazy checking WMR every few hours. This year I discovered https://taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. Instead of obsessively checking, I just let it monitor my transcript and it explains exactly what's happening with my return. It tells me what each code means and when I can expect my refund without me having to decode all that IRS jargon myself.

Does that actually work? I thought only the IRS could tell you when your refund is coming.

It doesn't give you any info the IRS doesn't have - it just makes sense of what's in your transcript. Like when you see code 570 and have no idea what it means, taxr.ai explains it in plain English and what it means for your specific situation. Saved me from having a meltdown this year lol

If you filed a simple return with direct deposit and no complicated credits, you're likely to see it within 21 days. The IRS is processing returns much faster this year than the last two years.

I had the same mindset after two horrible years dealing with the IRS. But when my return got delayed again this year, I finally broke down and called them. Spent 3 hours on hold before getting disconnected. Then I tried Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) after seeing it mentioned here. Got connected to an actual IRS agent in about 25 minutes who fixed my issue immediately. Might be worth keeping as a backup if you end up needing to call.

How much does that service cost? The IRS phone lines are a nightmare but paying to talk to them seems wrong somehow.

I felt the same way at first, but after wasting an entire day trying to get through myself, it was worth every penny. They don't charge much and saved me from the hell of IRS hold music. My sanity was worth more than what they charged.

I'm doing the exact same thing this year! I've even blocked the WMR website on my browser and deleted the app from my phone. My therapist actually suggested this as a way to manage my tax season anxiety. Last year I was checking 10+ times a day and it was affecting my sleep.
