Filed in March, still no IRS refund info. Anyone else stuck in limbo?
Hey everyone, I filed my taxes electronically back in March and still haven't gotten any info on my refund. It's been months now and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else been waiting this long? Any tips on how to get an update or speed things up? I'm thinking about calling the IRS but dreading those long hold times.

Ugh, I feel ya. I filed in February and I'm still waiting too. It's so frustrating! Have you tried checking the 'Where's My Refund' tool on the IRS website? Sometimes that gives more info than you'd expect.

Yeah, I've been checking that tool like every day π Still just says 'processing'. Starting to think it's broken or something

Lol true that. Maybe we should start a support group for people the IRS forgot about π

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might be in for a long wait. The IRS is seriously backlogged this year. I filed in January and just got my refund last week. Hang in there!

Have you tried calling the IRS directly? I know the hold times are brutal, but sometimes it's the only way to get real answers. Pro tip: call early in the morning right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

Thanks for the tip! I've been avoiding calling cuz I heard horror stories about being on hold for hours. Might have to bite the bullet tho

I found a way to avoid those insane hold times! There's this service called claimyr.com that dials the IRS, stays on hold for you, and then calls you when a real person picks up. It costs $20 but honestly, it's worth every penny. Saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Wait, for real? That sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

Yep, 100% legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it worked like a charm. Beats listening to that awful hold music for hours on end!

I'm gonna have to check that out. $20 is nothing compared to the sanity I'll save π

Here's what I've learned from my own refund saga: β’ The IRS is dealing with a massive backlog from the pandemic β’ If your return has any errors or needs manual review, it'll take longer β’ Sometimes, returns get flagged for identity verification (happened to me) β’ If you claimed certain credits (like EITC), that can slow things down too Best things you can do: 1. Keep checking 'Where's My Refund' tool 2. Be patient (I know, it sucks) 3. If it's been more than 21 days since you e-filed, definitely call them 4. Make sure you have all your tax docs ready when you do call Hang in there! It's frustrating, but your refund will come eventually.

Not to be that guy, but did you double-check your return for errors? Sometimes a small mistake can hold up the whole process.

I thought I did, but now you've got me paranoid. Gonna go over it again with a fine-tooth comb π°

Has anyone tried contacting their local Taxpayer Advocate Service? They can sometimes help if you're facing financial hardship due to refund delays.
