Lots of people are experiencing delays this year. The IRS is dealing with a huge backlog since tax season opened. Did you file electronically or paper? And did you claim any credits like EIC or Child Tax Credit? Those typically take longer to process.

•I filed electronically through TurboTax. No special credits, just a pretty basic return. I'm just getting worried because last year I had my refund within 2 weeks.

I filed early March and just got my refund last week. The IRS website kept saying "still processing" for almost 7 weeks! I was going crazy checking WMR every day. Have you checked your tax transcript? Sometimes that shows more info than the refund tracker.

Try using https://taxr.ai to analyze your transcript. I was in the same situation (filed April 3rd) and the Where's My Refund tool was useless. The taxr.ai tool explained exactly what was happening with my return and predicted my refund date accurately based on the codes on my transcript. Saved me a ton of anxiety!

•How does that work? Does it need my personal info? I'm always skeptical of these third-party services.

•It just helps you understand what the codes on your transcript mean for your specific situation. You upload your transcript that you download from the IRS website yourself, so you're not giving away any info that you haven't already gotten from the IRS. It just translates all the cryptic IRS codes into plain English.

The IRS is experiencing major delays this year. Their official guidance says to allow 21 days for e-filed returns, but in reality, many people are waiting 6-8 weeks or longer. As long as you don't have a 570 code on your transcript (which indicates a hold), you're probably just in the queue.

I waited 9 weeks last year, and when I finally got through to the IRS, they just told me it was "in process" and to keep waiting. This year I used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get through to an agent after waiting 5 weeks. Got connected in about 15 minutes instead of spending hours on hold. The agent was able to tell me exactly what was happening and when to expect my refund. Worth every penny to not sit on hold for 3+ hours.

•I might try that if nothing changes by next week. Getting really frustrated with the wait and no information.

•Definitely recommend it. The peace of mind from actually talking to someone who can see your file is worth it. Just have all your info ready when they connect you.

Have you checked your account transcript on the IRS website? Sometimes that will show pending refund info even when WMR doesn't update. Look for an 846 code with a date - that's your refund date.

•I tried but can't seem to access my transcript online. Says something about not being able to verify my identity. Might have to request it by mail which takes even longer 🤦♂️
