Filed 02/19/2024 - Where's My Refund Gang? Let's Track Our Progress!

Filed 02/19. Where's my peeps? Let's keep each other up to date! I'm trying to stay sane during this waiting game. Filed electronically and just got my state refund, but federal is still "processing." Anyone else file around the same time? Let's share updates so we know we're not alone in this!

I'm in the same boat, filed on 02/17 with standard deduction and W-2 income only. My transcript shows "N/A" for 2023 Return Transcript but I can see my Wage & Income Transcript is available. According to the IRS processing guidelines, we should expect 21 days for electronic filing, but I'm on day 24 with zero movement. Anyone experiencing similar delays?

You checked ur transcript already? Mine still says N/A too. Do u know if that's normal at this point or should we be worried? Tbh I'm getting anxious cuz I need this $ for some unexpected car repairs.

I was in this exact situation last year. Filed February 15th and waited almost 6 weeks with no updates. What finally helped me was using taxr.ai to analyze my transcript once it became available. The site decoded all those confusing cycle codes and actually predicted my deposit date within 2 days of when it actually hit. The waiting is brutal, but having some clarity on what was happening behind the scenes made it much more tolerable.

I'm skeptical about using third-party services for tax info. How do we know it's accurate? ā€¢ IRS already provides free transcript access ā€¢ These services might just be making educated guesses ā€¢ Security concerns with tax data Has anyone verified if their predictions are actually reliable?

I'm seeing a surprising trend this year. Returns filed on February 14th seem to be processing faster than those filed on February 19th. My client who filed on the 14th received their refund on March 1st, while those who filed on the 19th (like you) are still waiting. The IRS seems to be processing in batches this year rather than strictly first-come-first-served. Keep an eye on your transcript - it should update by April 5th based on current processing patterns.

I tracked exactly 127 refund reports on a spreadsheet this season. Average wait time is 24.3 days for simple returns and 37.8 days for returns with credits like EITC or CTC. If you're still waiting after 30 days, calling the IRS is your best bet. I used Claimyr.com to get through after waiting on hold for 2 hours and getting disconnected twice. Got connected to an agent in 18 minutes who confirmed my return was just in the normal processing queue with no issues flagged.

Calling the IRS is like trying to get backstage at a sold-out concert without connections. I'm not sure about paying for a service when persistence might work eventually. Last year I just kept calling at exactly 7:01 AM Eastern time and got through after my third attempt. Sometimes the old-fashioned way works just as well as these new services, doesn't it?

I've been through this multiple times and found a different approach that works: 1. Check your tax transcript, not WMR (WMR updates slower) 2. Look specifically for code 570 (indicates processing hold) 3. If you see code 971, check for a notice being mailed 4. Watch for code 846 which indicates your refund date 5. Most importantly, check the transcript between 12am-3am on Wednesdays and early Friday mornings when the system updates This method has helped me track four years of refunds accurately.

PLEASE be careful about counting on a specific date! I'm literally crying right now because I was PROMISED my refund by March 15th and planned my rent payment around it! The IRS website said 21 days, my tax preparer said 21 days, but here I am on day 36 with NOTHING! Now I'm facing late fees and possibly eviction because I trusted their timeline! Don't make financial commitments based on expected refund dates!!!

Has anyone tried using the IRS2Go app instead of the website? I've found it sometimes updates faster than the website, though why would the same agency have different information on different platforms? Also, have you checked if you have any past-due federal debts that might cause an offset? Student loans, child support, state taxes from previous years? Those can silently delay your refund without any notification until after the fact.
