Does the IRS transcript offset line actually show pending offsets? Help needed
I see an offset line on my transcript but it's showing $0.00. Does anyone know if this means I'm clear of offsets, or could they still take my refund? Don't want to get my hopes up if there's still a chance they'll take it.

Tax professional here. The offset line showing $0.00 typically means no current offsets are pending. However, if you have any new debts reported to the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) before your refund is issued, they could still be applied. You can call the TOP hotline at 800-304-3107 to verify any potential offsets.

It's usually near the bottom of your account transcript, labeled as 'offset' or sometimes 'reduction in refund'

hey guys instead of stressing about offsets, I've been using taxr.ai to analyze my transcripts. It costs $1 but it tells you exactly if you have offsets and when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to decode these transcripts ourselves https://taxr.ai

100% legit. It broke down everything for me, showed me exactly where my refund was in the process and even caught a potential delay I wouldn't have noticed

Heads up - offset info can change right up until they cut the check. Best bet is to call TOP directly or use something like taxr to track it. Don't trust the transcript alone.
