Does IRS Code 846 "Refund Issued" Mean Guaranteed $5,297 Deposit on 01-31-2025?
Just checked my transcript and saw code 846. Does this mean thats my actual deposit date or should I expect it later? Really need this money and want to make sure I understand what im looking at. I see the following on my transcript: 806 W-2 or 1099 withholding 04-15-2025 -$14,196.00 846 Refund issued 02-01-2025 $6,397.00 This Product Contains Sensitive Taxpayer Data I'm really hoping this means my refund of $6,397.00 is actually coming on 02-01-2025. I've got bills piling up and need to make some major repairs on my car. Does the "Refund issued" with code 846 guarantee that money is on its way for that exact date? Or should I expect delays? I'm new to reading these transcripts and just want to be sure I understand what I'm looking at before I start making financial plans.

Hey fam, IRS expert here! Code 846 on your transcript is a refund issued code, which means the IRS has processed your return and scheduled your refund. While it's not 100% guaranteed (nothing with the IRS ever is lol), it's pretty much the final step before the money hits your account. Usually takes 2-5 business days after the 846 date shows up. If you want a super detailed breakdown of your transcript and exact timing, check out taxr.ai - it's like having an IRS expert in your pocket. It'll analyze everything and tell you exactly what's happening with your refund status.

Generally yes, 846 is the refund issued code and the date shown is typically when it will hit your bank. However sometimes banks process it 1-2 days earlier or later depending on their policies.

Code 846 is definitely a good sign! It means the IRS has officially issued your refund and sent it to your bank. The date shown (02-01-2025 in your case) is when the IRS released the funds, but the actual deposit timing can vary by bank. Most banks process it within 1-3 business days of that date. Since you have Chase, they're usually pretty quick - often same day or next business day. Just keep in mind that weekends and holidays can affect timing, but you should definitely see that $6,397 very soon! š¤

Code 846 is definitely a positive sign! It means the IRS has processed your return and officially issued your refund. The date shown (02-01-2025) is typically when the funds are released to your bank. Most people see their deposit within 1-3 business days of that date, though it can vary by bank. Since you mentioned you have Chase, they're usually pretty reliable with timing - often posting on the same day or next business day after the 846 date. Just keep in mind weekends and holidays might affect the exact timing, but you should definitely see that money very soon! The 846 code is basically the IRS saying "we've sent it" so you're in the final stretch. š¤

Hey Ravi! Code 846 is definitely the light at the end of the tunnel - it means your refund has been officially processed and sent to your bank. With Chase, you're looking at pretty reliable timing. They usually post refunds either on the 846 date itself or the next business day. Since your 846 shows 02-01-2025, I'd expect to see that $6,397 hit your account either Saturday 2/1 or Monday 2/3 (depending on how Chase handles weekend processing). The fact that you're seeing 846 means you've cleared all the IRS hurdles - no more waiting for processing or reviews. Just the final bank transfer step left! Keep checking your account over the weekend. š
