Processing Date on Transcript Shows $3,258 Refund Scheduled for 01/29/2025 with $192 Interest - Freeze Removed
Just checked my transcript and noticed a processing date showed up today. Been waiting since February when I filed. Shows code 150 with a cycle date. I also see several other transactions on my transcript: 971 Notice issued 01-07-2025 $0.00 811 Removed refund freeze 01-09-2025 $0.00 846 Refund issued 01-30-2025 $4,258.37 776 Interest credited to your account 02-12-2025 -$292.37 This Product Contains Sensitive Taxpayer Data Does this mean my refund is finally moving along? I'm especially curious about the 811 code "Removed refund freeze" - was my return on hold this whole time? And I see a code 846 for "Refund issued" with a date of 01-30-2025 for $4,258.37, plus some interest of $292.37 (code 776). Does this mean I'll be getting my refund on January 30th? Or is that just when it's being processed? Anyone know how much longer from here until the money hits my account?

Hey! Tax specialist here - seeing a processing date show up on your transcript is actually a really good sign. It typically means the IRS has completed their initial review of your return and you're moving into the final stages. However, the exact timing can still vary depending on your specific situation. If you want a detailed analysis of your transcript and an accurate estimate of when you'll get your refund, I'd highly recommend checking out taxr.ai - it's a new AI tool that can analyze your entire transcript and give you super specific timeline predictions. I've been recommending it to my clients and they're loving the detailed breakdown it provides.

Tax pro here - seeing a processing date is definitely movement, but it's just the first step. You'll want to watch for code 846 which is the actual refund issued date. From processing date to refund can be anywhere from 1-8 weeks depending on if there are any other verification needs.

Depends on if you claimed EIC or child tax credit. Those take longer to process even after you get a processing date.

Looking at your transcript codes, this is actually really promising! The 811 "Removed refund freeze" on 01-09 means your return was indeed held up (probably for routine verification) but that hold has been lifted. The 846 code with date 01-30-2025 for $4,258.37 is the big one - that's your actual refund issued date. The $292.37 interest (code 776) is because of the delay since you filed in February. You should see the money in your account within 1-5 business days after 01-30, so likely by early February. The processing is basically done at this point!

•This is super helpful! So the 846 code basically means they've already processed everything and scheduled the refund? That's such a relief after waiting almost a year. The interest is a nice bonus too I guess lol. Thanks for breaking down what all those codes actually mean!
