Direct Deposit Date of 3/24 But SBTPG Can't Find My Account

I'm getting a bit anxious about my refund. My WMR tool shows a direct deposit date of 3/24 (tomorrow), but when I check with Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (my preparer uses them), they can't find my account information. My husband and I filed jointly for the first time this year, and I'm not sure if that's causing the issue. Has anyone else with a 3/24 DDD checked SBTPG and had the same problem? Is this normal or should I be concerned? I've triple-checked all our banking info on the return.

Ur good, this happens all the time. SBTPG usually updates last min tbh. I had DDD of 3/17 and SBTPG didn't show my acct until literally the night b4. They're slow af with updating their system but fast with sending $$ once they have it. Just keep checking throughout the day, esp after 3pm EST when they do most updates.

This is exactly what happened to me last year. SBTPG didn't show anything until about 6pm the day before my DDD, and then the money hit my account at 4am on my DDD. Their system is always behind the actual IRS processing.

But what happens if it doesn't show up by tonight? Is that a sign something's wrong with the banking info? I've heard horror stories about refunds being sent to wrong accounts.

Think of SBTPG like the middleman who's always running late to the meeting. The IRS has already sent your money, but SBTPG is like that friend who hasn't read their texts yet. They'll get the message eventually, probably when you've almost given up hope, and then suddenly your money appears!

You might want to try calling SBTPG directly at their customer service line. Sometimes their website doesn't reflect current information, but their phone reps can possibly see more details in their internal system. I believe they're open until 8pm Eastern on weekdays. It's probably nothing to worry about, but it might give you some peace of mind to speak with someone directly.

I tried calling them last year and it was a complete nightmare. Spent 2 hours on hold and then got disconnected. Their phone system is worse than the IRS! What eventually worked was emailing their support with my info - got a response within 24 hours confirming everything was fine.

Wow, I had no idea there were so many steps to getting your refund when using a tax preparer! I've always done my taxes myself and get direct deposit straight from the IRS. This SBTPG middleman process seems unnecessarily complicated!

Here's what's happening with your refund right now: Step 1: IRS has approved your refund and scheduled it for 3/24 Step 2: The funds are currently in transit to SBTPG Step 3: SBTPG needs to receive the funds, which typically happens 24-48 hours before your DDD Step 4: Once received, they need to deduct any preparation fees Step 5: Then they'll forward the remainder to your bank account I'm a bit concerned because normally SBTPG would show your account by now if your DDD is tomorrow. It could be a system delay, but I'd definitely keep checking throughout today.

If you're still not seeing anything in SBTPG by tonight, you might want to contact the IRS directly to verify everything is on track. According to several reddit threads I've read, calling early morning (right when they open) usually has the shortest wait times. If you can't get through, Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) is a service many here have used to connect with IRS agents without the endless hold times. They can check if there are any issues with your direct deposit info or if the refund is still scheduled correctly for tomorrow.

This appears to be a TPG (Third-Party Facilitator) synchronization delay rather than an actual disbursement problem. SBTPG operates on a T+1 or T+2 reconciliation cycle with the Treasury, meaning their customer-facing portal often lags 24-48 hours behind actual transaction status. Your Designated Disbursement Date remains valid in the IRS system. The joint filing status is unlikely to be a contributing factor to the display discrepancy you're experiencing with their portal.

I've been seeing this issue all over the tax forums lately! So many people with DDDs this week are having the same SBTPG problem. It seems like they're having some kind of system-wide delay in updating accounts. I'd be worried too if it were me, especially since this is your first time filing jointly! But from what everyone's saying, it should still arrive on time even if their system never updates. Does anyone know if SBTPG is having technical issues right now?

Have you tried these alternatives to checking SBTPG? ā€¢ Check your IRS transcript for the 846 code (that confirms the refund is actually being sent) ā€¢ Call your bank to see if there's any pending deposit ā€¢ Look at the actual bank account that will receive the deposit (sometimes it posts early) ā€¢ Check the IRS2Go app which sometimes updates when the website doesn't Many people focus only on SBTPG but there are multiple ways to track your refund's progress!
