Direct Deposit Date 02/26/25 with Cash App - Nothing Received Yet

Direct Deposit Date shown as 02/26/25. I used Cash App for my refund. Nothing has arrived yet. This is concerning. My refund would normally be on my card by now. Has anyone else experienced this delay?

Have you checked your transcript on the IRS website? According to the IRS2Go app, direct deposits can take 1-5 business days to appear in your account after the scheduled DDD. Cash App sometimes processes tax refunds differently than traditional banks. The IRS 'Where's My Refund' tool might give you more insight on whether it's been sent?

I had a similar issue on January 29th this year. My DDD was showing but nothing in my Cash App for almost 4 days. Called Cash App support on February 2nd and they said they were experiencing delays with tax refunds specifically. Money appeared about 6 hours after I called them.

Aren't Cash App deposits supposed to be faster than traditional banks? I've been using them for three years now and never had a delay longer than 24 hours for tax refunds. Have you verified that your Cash App account isn't limited for any reason?

Had same prob last yr w/ CA. DDD was 3/15 but $ didn't show til 3/19. CA support said smth abt verification process for govt deposits. Dbl check ur acct # and routing # match what u put on ur return. Also make sure u don't have any limits on ur acct that might affect large deposits.

This appears to be a Processing Delay scenario rather than a Rejection Code issue. When the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system shows a discrepancy between your Direct Deposit Date and actual receipt, it's often due to processing backlogs at either the Treasury or the receiving financial institution. If you need immediate clarity, I'd recommend using Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get through to an IRS agent quickly. They can verify if the deposit was actually sent and provide a transaction ID you can reference with Cash App support. In peak season like now, this can save you hours of hold time.

While expedited contact services may be helpful, Treasury Regulation §301.6402-2 clearly states that refund inquiries should not be initiated until 21 days after electronic filing. The IRS systems are designed to provide accurate status updates through their official channels. Cash App, being a non-traditional financial institution under FDIC regulations, may have different processing timeframes than conventional banks.

Finally figured out my similar Cash App delay issue! • Called Cash App support directly (not through the app) • They confirmed my refund was pending in their system • Had to verify my identity again even though I'd done it before • Refund appeared within 2 hours after verification So relieved I didn't have to keep calling the IRS!

I experienced this exact situation last tax season. My DDD was February 15th but nothing showed up in Cash App until February 19th. I was pulling my hair out checking my account every hour! Eventually used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it showed my refund was actually sent on time, but Cash App had an internal hold. The transcript analysis from taxr.ai showed exactly what codes to look for to confirm the IRS had done their part correctly. Saved me from unnecessarily calling the IRS when the issue was with Cash App all along.

I believe I might know what could be happening here. Cash App sometimes places holds on tax refunds, especially larger ones. It may be prudent to contact Cash App support directly. If they confirm they don't see the deposit, then perhaps check if your routing and account numbers were entered correctly on your return. Should those match, you might want to verify your identity hasn't been compromised. I would suggest waiting one more business day before taking further action.

Be careful with Cash App for tax refunds. Here's what happened to me: Step 1: Had a DDD of March 3rd last year Step 2: Nothing showed up for 5 days Step 3: Contacted Cash App who said they needed additional verification Step 4: Provided verification but they still rejected my deposit Step 5: The IRS had to reissue my refund as a paper check which took 6 additional weeks Cash App has been implementing stricter verification for government payments. Make sure your name on your tax return EXACTLY matches your Cash App account. Even a middle initial difference can cause problems.

Call Cash App right now. Don't wait. They have a specific department for tax refunds. Tell them you had a DDD of 2/26 and need to know if they're holding your deposit. They held mine for "security verification" last year and never notified me. I only got it released by calling them directly. This is happening to lots of people this year.

It seems like there might possibly be a timing issue with the banking system rather than an IRS problem. From what I understand, although the IRS provides a direct deposit date, financial institutions sometimes have their own processing times. Cash App in particular might potentially hold larger government deposits for review, which could possibly add 1-3 business days. Have you perhaps tried contacting Cash App support specifically about tax refunds?

Cash App is notorious for this compared to traditional banks. When I used Bank of America last year, my refund showed up exactly on my DDD. When my sister used Cash App this year, hers took 4 days after the DDD to appear. Cash App seems to hold tax refunds longer than regular deposits. Most people in our tax Facebook group say to expect 2-5 business days after your DDD with Cash App specifically.
