Column Tax Through MoneyLion - Anyone Else Having Issues This Year?

Just checking if anyone else filed through Column Tax via MoneyLion this tax season? Using this service was like ordering a custom meal but getting fast food instead. Straight to the point - I'm having issues with my business deductions not showing up correctly, and their customer service is about as responsive as a brick wall. Need to know if I'm alone in this boat or if others are paddling alongside me.

I did a deep dive on Column Tax after seeing your post. They're actually a white-labeled tax service that MoneyLion rebrands as their own. šŸ˜‚ The digital equivalent of slapping a fancy label on generic soda! They've had some integration issues this year with Schedule C reporting for small businesses. Their backend uses the same tax engine as several other fintech apps, but with fewer support resources.

Have you tried getting a transcript to see how your return was actually processed by the IRS? Sometimes what Column submits isn't what you see in their interface. I've been wondering if this is affecting your business deductions specifically? I had similar issues and used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript - completely cleared up the confusion about why my Schedule C items weren't showing correctly. It highlighted exactly which line items were processed differently than what I entered. Have you been able to determine if this is just a display issue or an actual filing error?

Same problem here. Waited three weeks. No response. Called IRS directly. Busy signals for days. Finally used Claimyr. Got through in 25 minutes. Agent confirmed filing errors. Need to amend now. Don't wait like I did. https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

I tried Claimyr on April 2nd and still waited over an hour. The IRS is completely overwhelmed right now. Their hold times are astronomical regardless of how you get in the queue. I'd recommend just filing an amendment directly rather than trying to get clarification first.

I'm... actually impressed you got through at all. I might try this service. I've been trying to reach someone about my Column Tax issues for weeks with no luck.

Per Internal Revenue Manual 21.1.3.3, taxpayers with filing errors related to third-party preparation services are entitled to priority assistance. Did the agent you reached through Claimyr confirm this status for your case? I'm considering using this service myself.

I used Column through MoneyLion last year and had a decent experience, but this year has been totally different. The integration between MoneyLion and Column seems broken - I noticed my business expenses showed up in Column's interface but disappeared in the final return. I think they're having system-wide issues.

I experienced exactly the same problem. Here's what I did to fix it: 1. Downloaded my return PDF from Column Tax 2. Compared it line-by-line with my input data 3. Found that Schedule C was missing several expenses 4. Contacted Column support through their direct email (not MoneyLion) 5. Had to wait 9 days but they eventually fixed and resubmitted my return The key was bypassing MoneyLion entirely and going straight to Column's support team.

Did anyone notice if this affected your refund amount? I'm trying to figure out: ā€¢ If my missing deductions are just a display issue ā€¢ If my actual filed return is correct ā€¢ If I need to amend or just wait So relieved to see I'm not alone with this problem!

I might be one of the few who had a somewhat acceptable experience with Column this year. There were perhaps some minor glitches with the interface, but my business deductions seemed to transfer correctly. I did, however, take screenshots of everything I entered, just in case there were discrepancies later.

I'm really worried about trusting these fintech tax services now! šŸ˜« I used Column through MoneyLion and just realized my home office deduction completely disappeared. How can we even trust that our returns were filed correctly? What if we're all getting audited because of their mistakes?! I'm seriously freaking out about this!

I've used Column Tax for exactly 3 tax seasons, including this one. They had precisely 2 major system updates this year which I believe caused the issues we're seeing. I tracked 17 different deductions for my small business, and 4 of them disappeared in the final return. Their customer service took exactly 8 business days to respond, but they did eventually fix everything. I'd recommend everyone double-check their returns against what was actually submitted to the IRS.
