Chime Users: Anyone with DDD 2/24 Received Refund Yet?
Anyone using Chime get their refund yet? My DDD is 2/24. Already got the advance. Just waiting on the rest. Checking multiple times daily. Need to plan my budget for March.

I'm sort of in the same boat with Chime. My DDD was supposedly 2/24, but I haven't seen anything hit my account yet. It's possibly due to the weekend processing delay, or maybe there's some kind of hold on the remaining portion after the advance? It's somewhat frustrating that there isn't more clarity about the timing when you've received an advance.

When did you get your advance payment? Did you get the full amount you were eligible for or just a partial advance?

I had a similar situation last year with Chime. Got the advance about 3 weeks before my actual refund came through. I remember checking constantly too! My experience was that Chime actually deposited it a day earlier than the DDD.

Just FYI - Chime usually posts fed refunds 1-2 days before the official DDD. Since 2/24 was a Saturday, you'll prob see it Monday or Tuesday. IRS doesn't process on weekends, but they send the $ files to banks in batches beforehand.

I'm also waiting for my refund with DDD 2/24 using Chime. So anxious about this! ā¢ Got my advance 2 weeks ago ā¢ Checked WMR this morning - still says refund approved ā¢ Called Chime yesterday - they said no pending deposits ā¢ Worried because I need this for rent next week Has anyone actually received theirs yet?

Thanks for breaking it down like this! I'm in the exact same boat - got my advance through Chime about 2 weeks ago and still waiting on the rest. It's helpful to know I'm not alone in this situation. I've been checking WMR like crazy.

Has anyone actually confirmed whether the weekend affects the deposit timing? I mean, if the DDD is 2/24, shouldn't the IRS have sent the funds already, regardless of it being a Saturday? Or does the whole system just pause for weekends?

Think of this like a restaurant that's taken your payment but is still preparing your meal. The DDD is like the estimated serving time, but just like a busy restaurant on a weekend, things get delayed. The IRS has approved your refund (taken your order) but the actual money transfer is like the kitchen preparing your food. Since 2/24 was a Saturday, it's like ordering right before the kitchen closes. You'll likely see it by Tuesday at the latest.

I appreciate this explanation. It helps to think about it this way. I've been through this process before and weekend DDDs always seem to cause confusion. Patience is difficult when you're counting on the money, but the system does work eventually.

Great explanation. Makes sense now. Will check again tomorrow. Thanks for the clear info. Helps with the anxiety.

This happened to me last year with a Saturday DDD of 2/18/2023. Got my deposit the following Monday 2/20/2023. The weekend definitely delays things but not by much!

If you're concerned about your refund status, here's what I'd suggest: 1. First, check your tax transcript on the IRS website to confirm your DDD 2. Second, verify that your Chime account info is correct on your return 3. Third, if it's been more than 5 days past your DDD, you might need to contact the IRS 4. Finally, if you can't get through to the IRS (which is likely), I used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) last year when my refund was delayed I was slightly worried too, but Claimyr connected me to an IRS agent in about 20 minutes who confirmed my refund was just delayed due to weekend processing.

According to IRS Publication 2043 and the Refund Timing Guidelines, direct deposit refunds should be received within 24-48 hours of the official Direct Deposit Date, excluding weekends and federal holidays. Since your DDD was 2/24 (Saturday), the actual processing would begin on the next business day, which is Monday 2/26. I would not be concerned until at least Wednesday 3/1 has passed without receipt.

I was in this exact situation last year! According to the IRS2Go app and several forums I checked (including r/IRS and the Chime subreddit), weekend DDDs almost always hit accounts on Monday or Tuesday following. Chime is usually faster than traditional banks but they still depend on when the IRS actually releases the funds. Hang in there!

OMG I was FREAKING OUT about this exact thing last week! š« I had a DDD of 2/17 with Chime, had received my advance earlier this month, and was checking my account literally every hour! I finally got my deposit on Monday 2/20 even though my date was 2/17. I was so relieved I almost cried! š The weekend definitely delays things but Chime still came through faster than my regular bank would have.

So you waited exactly 3 days past your DDD? I'm at 2 days past now. Did you get the full remaining amount? I received a $750 advance and expecting $3,245 more.

Chime user here. DDD 2/24 too. Got my deposit this morning. Full amount minus the advance I received. Check your account now. Chime usually processes early morning. If nothing by Wednesday, call IRS. They can trace your refund. Sometimes the bank info gets mistyped.

Have you tried checking your tax transcript instead of just WMR? Sometimes your transcript will show different codes that explain what's happening. In my case last year, my refund showed as approved on WMR but my transcript had a code 570 which meant there was a hold. The situation with Chime and advances is similar to how some tax prep services handle refund advances - the timing can vary compared to people who didn't get advances.
