California Tax Refund Shows "Authorized February 4" But No Deposit After 10 Days - FTB Status Shows Issued But Worried About Possible Offset

I filed my state taxes which got accepted earlier this week. When I checked my refund status today at webapp.ftb.ca.gov, it shows a status timeline with three stages: "Received" → "Processing" → "Issued". According to the status page, "We authorized your refund on Tuesday, February 04, 2025." The refund status page specifically states to "Please allow: 10 business days to receive your refund by direct deposit, or 25 business days to receive your refund by check." No deposit has hit my account yet though, and I'm getting a bit anxious about when I'll see the money. Last year my refund got taken for unemployment debt but at least it showed that clearly on the status page. This year I don't owe anything since I paid off like 11k last year with my refunds. The current status just says "If we made any adjustments to your return, we will notify you by mail." Would it show on this page if they took it for something else? Getting nervous since I don't see any offset notices like I did last year. The status just shows the three stages (Received → Processing → Issued) with no mentions of offsets or adjustments like it did last year. At the bottom of the page there's a "What did you think about this service? (survey takes 30 seconds)" option and a "Return to Check Refund Status" button, but nothing indicating whether my refund is being offset. The copyright at the bottom says "Copyright © 2025 State of California". Has anyone else had experience with the FTB website showing "authorized" but not actually having offsets mentioned even though they took it? I'm worried my refund is being taken again without proper notification.

The status page shows your California state tax refund is in its final stage, with "Issued" status after passing through "Received" and "Processing." The system specifically authorized your refund on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, which is the official start date of the waiting period. For direct deposit refunds, you should receive your funds within 10 business days (roughly 2 weeks including weekends). If you're getting a paper check, the timeline extends to 25 business days (approximately 5 weeks). Importantly, your status page doesn't show any offset notices or adjustments, which is a positive sign. In previous years, the FTB clearly displayed such information when your refund was being applied to unemployment debt. The standard message about possible adjustments ("If we made any adjustments to your return, we will notify you by mail") is just boilerplate text that appears on all refund status pages, not an indication of any actual adjustments. Since you're still within the standard processing window and there are no offset notifications displayed, your refund should arrive as expected through your chosen payment method.

Hey guys instead of stressing about refund status, I've been using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. For $1 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your money. Way better than trying to piece together clues like a detective lol https://taxr.ai

Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?
