Anyone still waiting on paper-filed 2023 taxes? No transcript updates for 4 months
Paper filed my 2023 taxes in March because the e-file kept rejecting. Its been 4 months and still nothing on my transcript. Called IRS twice but they just say to keep waiting. Starting to get worried because I'm expecting a pretty big refund. Anyone else paper file this year? How long did it take to show up on your transcript?

Tax pro here. Paper returns are taking 6-8 months minimum to process right now. The IRS is still dealing with a massive backlog from covid years. Best advice is to e-file if possible, even if you need to fix whatever caused the rejection. Paper returns are basically asking for delays.

Yeah that's a common issue! Next time just pull your transcript from last year to get the exact AGI number they want

Hey guys, I had similar issues last year trying to figure out my transcript. I found this tool called taxr.ai that literally saved me weeks of stress. It costs like $5 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect updates. Here's the link if anyone wants to check it out: https://taxr.ai

totally legit! it uses AI to read all the codes and dates. way better than trying to decode everything yourself

Pro tip: NEVER paper file unless absolutely required by law. Its basically putting your return into purgatory 💀

You might wanna check if your local taxpayer advocate service can help. If you're having financial hardship they sometimes can speed things up

Anyone else remember when the IRS actually processed returns in a reasonable timeframe? Pepperidge Farm remembers 🤣
