Forced to Paper File 2023 Return - What Should I Expect? Timeline?
Had to paper file my taxes this year because of an issue with my W2. Anyone know how long this is gonna take? Already been 6 weeks and my transcript is still blank. Starting to get worried since I'm expecting a pretty big refund.

Paper filing is significantly slower than e-filing. Current processing time for paper returns is running 6-8 months. Make sure you've created an online account at IRS.gov to monitor your transcript for updates. The 'Where's My Refund' tool won't show anything meaningful until they actually process your return.

•Unfortunately yeah. The IRS is still catching up from covid backlogs + they're understaffed

Hey! Instead of checking your transcripts manually every day, you should try taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and when to expect your refund. Its only $1 and saved me so much anxiety. https://taxr.ai

Make sure you sent it certified mail! I learned that lesson the hard way when they claimed they never got my 2022 return 😫

Pro tip: keep checking your transcript weekly. When you see code 150 pop up, thats when they started processing. After that it usually takes about 3-4 weeks to get your refund if theres no issues.
