Anyone file yesterday through TurboTax with Refund Advance and get accepted yet?

Just checking on the timeline for those who filed yesterday with TurboTax and opted for the Refund Advance option. Here's my situation and what I'm trying to figure out: 1. Filed my taxes yesterday afternoon through TurboTax 2. Chose the Refund Advance option since I need funds quickly for some gig equipment 3. Got the "submission received" notification but nothing about acceptance I know we all have rights to timely processing, but I'm wondering if the advance option slows down the initial acceptance. Anyone else in the same boat or already got their acceptance notification? As a gig worker, I really need to plan my cash flow carefully.

In my experience, TurboTax submissions with Refund Advance typically take approximately 24-48 hours for IRS acceptance, though this can sometimes extend to 72 hours during peak filing periods. The advance option itself doesn't necessarily slow down the acceptance process, but there might be additional verification steps on the financial institution's side before approving the advance. It's probably a bit too early to be concerned about your acceptance status if you just submitted yesterday.

According to IRS Publication 1345 (Rev. 1-2023), electronic returns go through a multi-stage validation process before acceptance. The standard acknowledgment timeframe is 24 hours, but can extend to 72 hours during peak filing season as specified in Section 4.3.1. I'd wait until at least tomorrow before getting worried.

The e-file status might not update immediately in the TurboTax system. Sometimes the IRS Acknowledgment Code (ACK) comes through but there's a delay in the TurboTax interface showing it. Have you checked your email for any IRS acceptance notifications? I'm slightly worried you might miss it if it went to spam.

Did you file with any tax credits that might trigger additional review? Things like EITC or CTC? Those can sometimes cause delays in the initial acceptance process. I've been dealing with this system for years and the initial acceptance timing varies significantly based on what's in your return.

Has anyone actually gotten the refund advance money quickly? According to the TurboTax support forums, lots of people are waiting 3-5 days even after acceptance. I'm skeptical about these "same-day" claims when so many reviews say otherwise.

I filed w/ TT + advance option last Tues and got accepted same day. Advance $ hit my acct Thu morning. Are u checking the WMR tool or just TT status? Sometimes WMR updates b4 the TT interface does, FWIW.

Last year I was in the exact same boat - filed with TurboTax, needed the refund advance, and then... silence. Tried calling the IRS for three days straight (my tax anxiety is next level, lol). Finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got through to an agent in about 15 minutes who confirmed my return was received but still processing. Turns out there was a minor verification hold that wouldn't have shown up anywhere else. The peace of mind was worth every penny instead of stress-refreshing TurboTax every hour!

Wait, you had to pay a service just to talk to the IRS? I thought they have a dedicated e-file status hotline. Couldn't you have just called that directly? I'm impressed they actually gave you useful information though - that's rare in my experience.

Oh my god THANK YOU for this tip! I've been trying to get through to the IRS for days about my refund advance situation and keep getting disconnected. So frustrating! 😭 Will definitely check this out.

How much does Claimyr cost exactly? I'm trying to budget carefully since I'm waiting on my refund, but if it's under $25 it might be worth it to actually get answers about my advance status.

The Refund Advance product is essentially a short-term loan based on anticipated refund amount, not an actual acceleration of IRS processing. The acceptance acknowledgment (ACK) from the IRS follows standard e-file protocols regardless of whether you've opted for an advance. I'd recommend monitoring both the IRS Where's My Refund tool and your financial institution's account rather than the TurboTax interface.

Isn't it interesting how we expect immediate results in the digital age? The IRS processing systems were designed decades ago and have been patched rather than rebuilt. Even with e-filing, there are multiple validation checks happening behind the scenes. Have you considered that your return might be accepted but the notification system is lagging? This happens more often than people realize.

This is exactly right. The IRS processing flow works like this: • Initial submission receipt (what you've gotten) • Pre-processing validation checks • Mathematical verification • Database cross-checks • Final acceptance • Acknowledgment transmission back to preparer Each step has its own timeframe and potential delays, especially during peak filing season.

Wow. Had no idea there were so many steps. Always thought it was just submit and wait. No wonder it takes time. Makes sense now.

I just checked my calendar and last year I filed on February 15th and got acceptance on February 17th, but my advance didn't show up until February 22nd. So that's 2 days for acceptance and 5 more days for the advance to actually hit my account. The timing seems to be pretty consistent year-to-year.

I filed yesterday with TurboTax and the advance option. Got my acceptance email about 3 hours ago. Check your spam folder - that's where mine went. Such a relief to finally see it come through.

Have you considered checking your tax transcript directly from the IRS website instead of waiting for TurboTax notifications? It's like comparing primary vs secondary sources - why rely on TurboTax to tell you what the IRS knows when you can check with the IRS directly? Many times I've seen the transcript update before any preparer notification comes through.

Think of tax processing like traffic on a highway - sometimes you sail right through, other times there's unexpected congestion. Your filing is like a car that just entered the on-ramp yesterday. Most cars take at least a day to reach their destination this time of year. The refund advance is more like having someone meet you halfway with some gas money rather than making your car go faster. Be patient - almost everyone gets through the traffic eventually.
