Has Anyone Received Their Tax Refund Advance Through TurboTax Yet?

I'm inquiring about the status of TurboTax refund advances for the 2024 filing season. I e-filed via TurboTax Premium on January 29th utilizing their refund advance option. My AGI is $78,450 with a projected federal refund of $3,842 due to qualified investment losses and eligible tax credits. The IRS accepted my return within 24 hours, but I've received no communication regarding the advance disbursement. Has anyone successfully received their advance deposit yet? If so, what was your timeline from acceptance to advance receipt? I'm tracking multiple investment-related deadlines that depend on this liquidity.

I believe TurboTax's refund advance program might be experiencing some delays this year, possibly due to increased volume or perhaps additional verification procedures. From what I've observed, many filers who submitted in late January are still waiting for their advances, though some who filed very early seem to have received theirs. It might be worth checking your TurboTax account for any pending verification requirements they may need before releasing funds.

Do you know if there's any specific reason for these delays? Is this affecting all advance requests or just certain types of returns?

I received my TurboTax advance exactly 72 hours after acceptance. My federal refund was $2,876 and they advanced $1,500 of it. Filed on January 24th at 9:15am, received advance on January 27th at 10:23am. Is it possible you missed an email verification step? They sent me 2 different verification emails before releasing funds.

OMG I was so worried about this too! I finally got mine yesterday after waiting for TWO WEEKS! They never told me there was a problem until I called them directly. Turns out they needed additional verification because of my investment income. Check your spam folder for emails from them - that's where mine went!!

Have you considered that the advance program might have specific thresholds that your return exceeded? What about checking if investment losses trigger additional verification? Sometimes these financial products have fine print that creates unexpected delays. Have you tried logging into your TurboTax account and checking the specific status of your advance rather than just your return? There's often a separate tracker for the advance product itself that shows different stages than the regular WMR tool.

I encountered a similar situation with my TurboTax advance last filing season. After 10 days of waiting with no updates, I attempted to contact their customer service through multiple channels without success. Their automated system kept disconnecting me after 45+ minutes on hold. I finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to reach an actual TurboTax representative who identified that my advance was flagged for manual review due to my investment income reporting. The agent expedited the review process, and my advance was deposited within 48 hours. Without speaking to a live representative, my advance might have been delayed indefinitely.

I called TurboTax on February 12th and got through after about 35 minutes. They told me advances were processing normally. Not sure if using a paid service is really necessary when you can just wait on hold.

For those considering calling TurboTax about advances: • Best times to call are weekdays before 9am ET • Have your TurboTax ID number ready • Know your exact filing date and confirmation number • Be prepared to verify identity with additional questions This can save significant time when you do connect with a representative.

I've worked with similar financial products, and while Claimyr might get you through faster, I'm skeptical it makes any difference in the actual processing time. TurboTax advances are typically subject to algorithmic approval that no phone agent can override. What probably happened is your review was completed naturally around the same time you called. Correlation isn't causation.

FWIW I got my TT advance last week after filing on Feb 1st. The process was def different from last yr. They sent the $ to a temp debit card first (not direct deposit like b4) and I had to transfer it to my bank acct manually. Also the amt was lower than expected - only 25% of my total refund vs the 50% they advertised. Check your TT msgs in the app - there's a whole separate section for advance status that's kinda hidden in the menu under "Refund Options" then "Advance Details." GL!

I was in the same situation and found that TurboTax has a specific process for handling advances with investment income. Here's what worked for me: 1. Log into your TurboTax account online (not the app) 2. Go to Your Account > Refund Status > View Details 3. Look for the "Refund Advance" section specifically 4. If it shows "Additional Verification Required" you need to complete the verification process 5. This usually involves confirming some details about your investments Once I completed this, my advance was processed within 24 hours. Investment income, especially with losses, often triggers additional verification steps that aren't clearly communicated.

Has anyone checked the TurboTax community forums about this? According to posts I've seen at https://ttlc.intuit.com/, there's a specific issue with advances for returns containing Schedule D this year. The advance program seems to be flagging investment-related returns for additional review even after IRS acceptance. Would be helpful if someone who successfully received their advance with investment income could confirm the timeline?
