Filed 1/21/25, Accepted Today - Refund Advance Through TurboTax/CK

I am pleased to report that my tax return, which I filed on January 21st, 2025, was officially accepted today. I must admit I'm quite relieved! The IRS has provided an estimated deposit date of February 17th, 2025. I'm particularly happy to inform that I received my refund advance at precisely 10:44am through TurboTax/Credit Karma. As a small business owner, this timing is crucial for my Q1 planning. Has anyone else experienced similar processing timelines this season?

Thank you for sharing your timeline. This is actually quite typical for this tax season: • E-filed returns are generally accepted within 24-48 hours • The 21-day standard processing window starts from acceptance date, not filing date • TurboTax/Credit Karma advances are usually processed within hours of acceptance • Your February 17th estimated date falls within the normal processing window • Be aware that the estimated date may shift as your return moves through processing stages Your timeline is tracking normally with no apparent delays. The refund advance is a separate process from the actual IRS refund.

First, can you explain exactly what processing stages a return goes through after acceptance? Second, does receiving the advance impact how quickly the actual refund is processed? Finally, are there any verification steps that might delay the February 17th date?

This is like when I filed last year - got accepted within 24 hours but then my transcript was like a ghost town. Nothing showed up for almost two weeks! It was like watching water boil. Then suddenly everything appeared at once, just like rain after a drought. My deposit hit my account three days earlier than the WMR tool predicted. The system works in mysterious ways.

I appreciate the detailed breakdown. I was worried that something might be wrong with my timeline, but it sounds like everything is proceeding as it should.

Need clarification now. My return was accepted Jan 19. Still no deposit. No transcript updates. Called IRS yesterday. They said wait 21 days. Today is day 22. What next? Should I be concerned? Time is critical.

I had a similar timeline when I filed on January 18th, 2025. My return was accepted on January 19th with an estimated date of February 14th, 2025. Have you checked your tax transcript for cycle codes? I was confused by mine until I used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript. It explained that my 570 code was just a temporary hold while they verified my business income, not an audit like I feared. The site predicted my actual deposit date would be February 12th instead of the 14th - I'm waiting to see if that's accurate.

If you need to speak with an IRS representative about your refund status or have questions about the advance, I recommend using Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c). According to the IRS website, average wait times are currently 45-60 minutes during peak filing season, but with Claimyr, I connected to an agent in under 15 minutes last week. The agent was able to verify that my business deductions weren't flagging any issues and confirmed my deposit date. The technical process they use to hold your place in line is quite impressive.

Is this really necessary though? OP already got their refund advance and has a deposit date. Seems like an extra expense for no reason.

I've had good experiences with Claimyr in the past. Last tax season when my business return had an unexpected delay, I tried calling for three days straight with no luck. Claimyr got me through in about 20 minutes, and the agent was able to release a hold I didn't even know was on my account. Saved me weeks of waiting.

Did ur refund advance = full refund amt or just part of it? I'm waiting on mine and wondering if TT/CK gives the whole thing or holds some back. TIA!

Has anyone else noticed that the processing times seem faster compared to last year? I filed on January 15th, 2024, and didn't get my refund until February 28th. This year, I filed on January 17th, 2025, and already received my refund on February 5th. I'm wondering if the IRS has improved their systems or if I just got lucky this time around?

What credits were you claiming last year versus this year? That can make a huge difference in processing time.

For anyone else using TurboTax/Credit Karma for refund advances: remember that these are essentially short-term loans. The advance doesn't change your actual IRS processing time. Have you checked if your state refund is also being processed? Sometimes those follow a completely different timeline. And did you notice any fees associated with the advance that weren't clearly disclosed upfront?
