Amended Return sent 10/11 - No Direct Deposit or Check Yet? Which Payment Method?
My transcript shows my amended return was sent on October 11th but I still haven't received anything. No direct deposit and no check in the mail. How do I know which payment method they're using and when will I actually get my money?

For amended returns, the IRS typically sends paper checks, even if you originally requested direct deposit. The processing time after the completion date can take 2-3 weeks for the check to arrive in your mail.

Called the IRS yesterday about my amended return (filed in August). They said all amended returns are getting paper checks now, no direct deposits. Takes about 3 weeks after the completion date shows up on transcript. Also make sure your address is current with them or youll be playing where's waldo with your money lol
