Account Transcript Shows 'Refund Not Received' But IRS Accepted My Return on Feb 11 - Still Processing?

So I have my account transcripts... what code am I looking at? It also says refund not received which I know they accepted it on 2/11... this must mean they are really still processing it?

The 'refund not received' notation on your account transcript typically means that while your return has been accepted into the IRS system (that's the 2/11 date you mentioned), it hasn't completed processing yet. There's a difference between 'accepted' (which means your return passed initial validation) and 'processed' (which means they've reviewed everything and approved your refund). What specific codes do you see on your transcript? Codes like 570, 971, 846 all have different meanings and can give us clues about where your return is in the process.

I see codes 150, 806, and 766. There's no 846 code yet which I'm guessing is what I need to see for my refund? The 150 has today's date next to it.

You're in the middle of processing. Code 150 means your return has been posted to your account, 806 is withholding credits, and 766 typically refers to credits on your return. You're right that 846 is the refund issued code - that's what you're waiting for. I was stuck in this exact limbo for weeks last tax season. I started using https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it was super helpful - it explained every code and gave me a much clearer picture of what was happening with my refund timeline. It predicted my refund date almost to the day.

It's normal to be in processing for a while, especially this time of year. We're at peak tax season right now. The IRS says 21 days is standard processing time, but that's really just the minimum for straightforward returns. Many people are waiting 30-45 days this year. As long as you don't see any specific hold codes (like 570), you're probably just in the regular queue.

Thanks everyone. It's been exactly 31 days since they accepted it, so I guess I'm still within the normal timeframe. Just getting anxious because I was counting on this money.

If you're really concerned, you could try calling the IRS directly to check on status. But fair warning - I tried calling last week and spent 3 hours on hold before getting disconnected. My friend recommended Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) which got me through to an actual IRS agent in about 15 minutes. They confirmed my return was just in normal processing queue with no issues. Saved me a ton of stress and wasted time.

I might try that if nothing changes by next week. Did they ask for any personal info or anything?

Nope, they just connect you to the IRS line and hold your place in queue. When you get connected, you talk directly to the IRS agent like normal. Totally worth it for me since I was going crazy with the waiting and busy signals.

Just FYI, the 'accepted' status just means your return passed the initial validation checks (correct SSN, name matches, math adds up, etc). The real processing - where they check your credits, compare to employer records, etc. - happens after that. Based on your codes, you're in normal processing with no obvious issues. Most returns with no complications are processed within 6 weeks max, even during busy season.
