2024 Processing Dates: MLK Holiday Impact on Transcript Updates?

Anyone know if transcript updates are happening tonight since tomorrow is MLK day? My transcript shows Jan 17th as processing date which seems weird since its a federal holiday. Could it just be the computer system auto-generating dates without accounting for holidays?

transcripts usually update Tuesday morning around 3am EST regardless of holidays from what ive seen

i worked at the irs for 6 years and yes the system generates dates automatically. dont worry too much about the exact date - it'll process when it processes tbh

Need help understanding transcript - WMR not updating

Filed my taxes and my transcript is showing some activity but Where's My Refund tool hasn't updated at all. Starting to worry because I keep checking everyday and nothing changes. Anyone else experiencing this or know what's going on?

Just a heads up - if you filed with earned income credit or child tax credit, WMR might not update until mid-february due to PATH act requirements. The system is working even if you cant see it.

NYS Tax Notice showing up online - Can I get info about letter over phone?

I see a notice about getting a letter from New York State tax department on their website. Does anyone know if I call them will they tell me what the letter is about? Or do I have to wait for the actual letter to arrive in the mail? Getting kinda anxious about what it could be.

Check your spam folder too. Sometimes their letters end up there if you opted for electronic communications

NYS Tax Notice - Can I get letter contents over phone before it arrives?

I see a notice about a letter on the NYS tax website. Getting nervous about what it could be. Anyone know if I call them will they tell me whats in the letter over the phone? Or do I have to wait for it to show up in my mailbox?

Filed 1/31 - No approval yet. Should I be worried about my 2023 return?

Filed my taxes on January 31st and still showing as processing. No updates on WMR or transcripts. Anyone else file early and still waiting? Starting to get worried since everyone I know who filed after me already got their refunds.
