TurboTax Premium Shows $9,876 Federal Refund Stuck on "Refund in Progress" for Weeks with No Movement
I'm looking at my TurboTax LIVE Premium screen right now and it's showing exactly $9,876 for my federal refund but it's still stuck on "Refund in progress" status. Been this way for weeks now and I can't figure out why. My dashboard clearly shows "Federal due: $9,876" right below the "Refund in progress" message at the top of the screen. My Georgia state refund is showing $2,445, and TurboTax shows "GA due" next to it. The Premium version cost me $49 but I feel like I'm just staring at this "Refund in progress" screen with no movement. I'm logged into the mobile app (my battery is at 42% while checking this) at 19:31, and I can see my Tax Home dashboard clearly shows these amounts. Under the main INTUIT TurboTax LIVE header, I have several navigation options including Tax Home, Documents, 2024 TAXES, My Info, Federal, Referral Rewards, and Intuit Account. I even see options to "Cambiar a español," "Switch Products," and "Sign Out" but none of that helps me figure out why my refund is stuck. Why is this processing taking so long? The federal amount shows as "Federal due" with the $9,876 right there, but nothing's moving forward. Anyone else stuck in this limbo with TurboTax Live Premium? Should I contact help (there's a help button at the bottom of my screen) or just keep waiting?

The TurboTax Premium dashboard shows you're at the "Refund in progress" stage with specific amounts of $9,876 for federal and $2,445 for Georgia state taxes. Both amounts are marked as "due," which means these are confirmed refund amounts awaiting processing. You're using the Premium version which costs $49, as shown at the top of your screen. The timestamp of 19:31 and battery indicator of 42% confirm this is a recent mobile app screenshot. The interface displays the standard TurboTax Live navigation menu, including Tax Home, Documents, My Info, Federal, and other essential sections. Your federal refund amount of $9,876 is notably large, which typically triggers additional IRS verification processes. The IRS currently takes 21-45 days to process refunds of this size due to enhanced security measures. The "Refund in progress" status is a normal part of this process, though frustrating when it remains unchanged for extended periods. The presence of both English and Spanish language options ("Cambiar a español") indicates you're using the US version of the software with multilingual support. The "2024 TAXES" header confirms you're working on the current tax year.

Unfortunately, not much you can do except wait. Make sure to keep checking your transcript for updates.

Hey, you should check out taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on with your refund and when to expect it. Costs a buck but totally worth it. https://taxr.ai
