810 Freeze Code - Found out it's from past IRS debt but phone says no offset?

Finally figured out why I got the 810 freeze code on my transcript. Did some research and found out its because of past IRS debt. When I called the automated system it said no offset but when I checked my account online theres definitely old tax debt they're gonna take from my refund. Anyone else dealt with this contradiction between the phone system and online account?

The phone system typically takes longer to update than your online account. If you see the debt online, that's the most current info. The 810 freeze is almost always related to past tax debt or other federal/state debts. Your refund will likely be applied to your past debt, and you'll get whatever's left over (if any).

ugh that's what I was afraid of 😭 do you know how long the process usually takes?

Usually takes about 2-3 weeks from when the 810 first appears for the offset to process and remaining refund (if any) to be released

Hey, I was in the same situation last month. Want to save yourself hours of research? Use taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening with offsets and delays. Only costs $1 and saved me so much headache trying to decode everything. https://taxr.ai

Is this legit? Sounds too good to be true

100% legit! The AI breaks down everything - tells you exactly why you have the freeze, estimates when it'll clear, and even gives tips on what to do next. Way better than trying to piece everything together yourself

quick tip: call the treasury offset number 1-800-304-3107. It'll tell you exactly what debts you have that qualify for offset. Sometimes the IRS website shows old debts that aren't actually eligible for offset anymore
