2024 Return filed 1/23: No transcript updates, WMR stuck processing, HOH with dependents
Filed my 2024 taxes on 1/23 through TurboTax (accepted 1/24). Head of household with 3 dependents. I know I owe the IRS some money but should still get a refund after that. Problem is theres nothing on my transcript and WMR just says processing. No path or updates at all. Getting worried.

The IRS just started accepting returns on 1/22, so you're very early in the process. With prior tax debt, your refund will likely be offset to cover what you owe first. The lack of transcript updates is normal this early - most early filers won't see movement until early February. Keep checking weekly.

•ty for explaining! do you know how long offset usually takes to process?

•Usually adds about 1-2 weeks to processing time. They have to confirm the debt amount before releasing whats left 👍

Hey, I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund progress and it's been super helpful. It costs $1 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to decode all this stuff ourselves. https://taxr.ai

•Yeah its legit! I was skeptical too but it literally saved me hours of stress. It even caught some stuff I missed about my offset.

If you owe back taxes make sure you check the offset hotline at 800-304-3107. That will tell you if/how much they're gonna take from your refund.

Quick tip - having dependents usually means you'll get PATH Act delayed anyway. They don't start releasing those until mid-February at the earliest just fyi
