2023 Return Filed 02/02: WMR to N/A to Topic 152 - Finally Got DDD 03/08
I efiled early February and its been a rollercoaster. WMR showed processing, transcripts N/A, and my IRS account showed nothing started. Called IRS and the rep couldnt even find my return at first! They said maybe there was an error but couldn't tell me what kind. Finally saw movement with Tax Topic 152 showing up March 1st, and my transcripts just updated with a direct deposit date of March 8th!

This is actually pretty normal for this time of year. The IRS systems are getting hammered with returns and sometimes show inconsistent status updates. Tax Topic 152 is actually a good sign - it means your return is in the processing pipeline. Glad you got your DDD! The 21-day standard processing time is more of a guideline than a rule these days.
