0605 Cycle Code Still Not Updated - Anyone Else Waiting?
0605 here still not updated 😢😢 anyone else!!!?? Been checking WMR & transcripts daily. Filed 2/15, accepted same day. Last yr was 0605 too & had refund by now. Transcript shows processing date of 3/25 but nothing since. No 846 code. Getting worried bc need $ for car repairs ASAP. Anyone else 0605 cycle still waiting? Thx in adv!

The 0605 cycle is definitely running behind this year. I've been tracking the patterns and it looks like many 0605 filers from mid-February are experiencing delays of 2-3 weeks beyond normal processing times. Could be due to the IRS implementing those new verification steps they announced in January. *insert dad joke about the IRS moving at the speed of government* Keep checking your transcript for the 846 code - that's the only one that really matters as it indicates your direct deposit date. The processing date is just an internal marker.

So does that mean we should expect updates this Friday? I've been checking every morning and still nothing.

OMG this is so frustrating!!! 😡 I've been waiting since February 12th and STILL nothing! My processing date was 3/18 and it's just sitting there with no movement. I'm literally checking transcripts 3 times a day hoping for that 846 code to appear! Why is the IRS so slow this year???

I've been tracking exactly 47 0605 cycle code reports across various forums, and 31 of them are experiencing similar delays. Is there any statistical correlation between claiming certain credits and these extended processing times? My data suggests EITC filers are waiting 13.2 days longer on average.

I'm also on cycle 0605 and was starting to worry. Filed on 2/10, accepted same day, but just got my deposit yesterday. My transcript updated early Monday morning rather than the usual Thursday/Friday update we typically see for 0605. So maybe check more frequently? I didn't have any complex credits though, just standard deduction and W2 income.

Really? Monday update? That's new. Thanks for sharing. I'll check mine tomorrow. Hope it's there.

Per IRS Publication 1345 and the processing guidelines outlined in their Master File Operations Manual, the cycle codes typically maintain consistent update patterns throughout a filing season. Your Monday update suggests the IRS may be implementing their announced processing efficiency improvements which allow for daily rather than weekly batch processing. This is valuable information for the community.

Same boat, 0605 cycle and filed 2/14. Called the IRS 8 times last week and couldn't get through. Finally used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. Agent told me there was a random review flag on my return but nothing to worry about - should be processed within 7-10 days. Worth the fee to actually talk to someone instead of the automated system telling me nothing. I was losing my mind with the waiting and not knowing.

March 24th I called the IRS directly and got through after only 37 minutes. These services just take advantage of people who don't know how to navigate the phone system. If you call at 7:01am Eastern on Tuesdays, the wait times are much shorter.

Wait, how do you even know your cycle code? I've been trying to figure this out for weeks. Is it on the transcript somewhere or do you need to call to find out? The IRS website is so confusing.

Your cycle code is on your account transcript - it's the first 4 digits of that long number next to each transaction. Think of it like your tax return's assigned processing lane on the IRS highway. Some lanes move faster than others, and the last two digits tell you which day of the week your lane typically updates (05 = Thursday night/Friday morning).

Be careful about counting on specific cycle patterns this year. My brother-in-law was 0605 last year and this year, but his experience was completely different. Last year: filed Feb 10, refund Feb 28. This year: filed Feb 8, still waiting with no updates. The IRS is like a box of chocolates this season - you never know what you're gonna get. Better to prepare for delays than count on that money immediately.

I'm a 0605 filer too, submitted on 2/19 and just got my deposit yesterday. Interestingly, my transcript updated on 4/1 with an 846 code dated 4/3. Has anyone else noticed the IRS is giving shorter windows between the 846 code appearing and the actual deposit this year? In previous years wasn't it usually 5-7 days between transcript update and deposit?
