How to contact DEO adjudicator for weeks on hold? Urgent 2025 claim issues
I've been dealing with this nightmare for almost a month now. Two of my weeks are showing 'pending-adjudication' status in CONNECT and I'm supposed to claim another week next Tuesday. I've called the DEO hotline SIXTEEN times this week alone but keep getting the stupid automated message saying 'high call volume' before it hangs up on me! Has anyone actually managed to speak with an adjudicator directly? Is there a secret extension number or specific time to call? I'm getting desperate as my rent is due next week and I have no idea why my claim is being held up. The CONNECT dashboard doesn't show any action items or fact-finding questionnaires I need to complete. I'm starting to think they're doing this on purpose to avoid paying benefits!

•Thanks for responding. I did try the messaging system twice already. First message was 3 weeks ago and second was last week. Still nothing back from them. Did you put anything specific in your subject line to get their attention?

Unfortunately, getting in touch with an adjudicator directly is nearly impossible these days. The system is designed for them to contact you, not the other way around. What you CAN do is: 1. Make sure your contact info in CONNECT is 100% up to date 2. Check your spam/junk folders daily (they often send emails requesting information) 3. Submit a Request for Assistance form through their website 4. Continue claiming your weeks even while others are pending The adjudication process is taking 4-6 weeks on average in 2025 due to the new verification system they implemented. Even with weeks on hold, don't stop claiming your eligible weeks.

•Thank you for this detailed response. I hadn't thought about checking my spam folder - just looked and there's nothing there though. I'll submit that assistance form right away. It's so frustrating that they keep people in the dark about what's happening with their claims!

LOL good luck!! DEO is a DISASTER in 2025... worse than ever!! Been waiting NINE WEEKS for adjudication on my claim. Apparently they're reviewing my 'separation reason' even though I was clearly laid off with documentation from my employer. THEY DON'T CARE about us. The system is DESIGNED to be difficult so people give up!!! 😡😡😡

•That's not entirely accurate. While DEO is definitely overwhelmed, the system isn't deliberately designed to make people fail. The adjudication backlog is primarily due to the new fraud prevention measures put in place after the 2024 identity theft crisis. It's frustrating, but there are legitimate reasons for the delays.

I had the exact same issue last month with two weeks stuck in adjudication. I tried calling for weeks with no luck - constant busy signals or disconnects. I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) and got through to a DEO agent in about 25 minutes. They were able to see that my claim needed a simple employment verification that wasn't showing up in my CONNECT inbox. The agent transferred me to adjudication and they resolved it on the spot. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. Definitely worth it when you're desperate to reach someone.

•Yes, it actually works. I was skeptical too but I was desperate after 3 weeks of trying to call DEO myself. It's just a service that keeps dialing for you until it gets through the busy signals. When I finally got connected, I spoke directly with DEO - not with Claimyr. They just get you past the phone system bottleneck.

I had ths happen in January. For me it was bcause my employer disputed my claim (even tho they laid me off!!!). The adjudicatr called me after 5 weeks. Make sure ur phone accepts calls from unknown/blocked numbers!! They called me 3 times from a blocked number before sending a letter saying they couldn't reach me. Almost lost my benifits becuz of that!

•Oh wow - I've been declining unknown numbers thinking they were spam calls. I'll definitely change that setting on my phone right now. Thanks for the tip!

One more important thing - when your claim is under adjudication, make absolutely sure you're completing your five work search activities each week and documenting them properly. Even while weeks are pending, DEO can deny benefits retroactively if they find you weren't meeting the work search requirements during that time. The requirements changed in March 2025 so double-check you're following the current guidelines.

Update: I took everyone's advice and 1) made sure my phone accepts unknown numbers, 2) double-checked my work search activities are properly logged, and 3) used the Claimyr service that someone recommended. I FINALLY got through to DEO! Turns out they needed additional verification of my last day worked because my employer submitted conflicting information. The adjudicator was able to process it while I was on the phone. My pending weeks should be released in 24-48 hours! Thank you all for your help - this forum saved my sanity.

Congrats on getting it resolved! This is exactly why this community is so valuable - real people sharing what actually works. Your experience with Claimyr getting you through to DEO in under 30 minutes when you couldn't get through for weeks on your own is proof that sometimes you need to think outside the box. Thanks for coming back to update us with the good news. Hopefully your story will help other people in similar situations!

•This thread has been so helpful to read through! I'm dealing with a similar situation - 3 weeks pending adjudication and getting nowhere with the regular phone lines. @088b909597d2 thanks for sharing your success story and @cc9ed8de0a02 thanks for the Claimyr tip. I was hesitant about using a third-party service but seeing multiple people confirm it actually works makes me feel better about trying it. Going to give it a shot tomorrow morning!

Just wanted to add another tip that helped me when I was stuck in adjudication hell last year - if you have any documentation related to your separation (layoff letter, final paystub, severance paperwork, etc.), make sure to upload it through the CONNECT portal even if they haven't specifically requested it. Sometimes the adjudicators are waiting for documents that never got flagged as "required" in the system. I uploaded my layoff notice proactively and it seemed to speed up the process. Also, @088b909597d2 so glad you got it sorted out! Your update gives hope to everyone else dealing with this mess.

•@1fc5995409a3 That's a really smart tip about uploading documentation proactively! I wish I had known that when I was going through my own adjudication process. It makes total sense that some required documents might not show up as flagged in the system. For anyone else reading this thread, it's also worth checking if your employer has submitted their side of the separation information correctly - sometimes there are discrepancies that cause delays but DEO doesn't always communicate that clearly to claimants. This whole thread has been incredibly informative!

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - 2 weeks pending adjudication and can't get through to anyone at DEO. Reading through all these responses has been incredibly helpful! I'm definitely going to try the Claimyr service that @cc9ed8de0a02 mentioned, and I'll make sure my phone accepts unknown numbers like @06113a3c669a suggested. It's so frustrating that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get basic information about our claims, but at least this community shows there are ways to actually reach someone. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips - it really helps to know we're not alone in this struggle!

•@e93e259416c1 You're definitely not alone in this! I've been following this thread closely because I'm in a similar boat - just hit week 4 of pending adjudication status with zero communication from DEO. It's really encouraging to see @088b909597d2's success story and all the practical tips everyone has shared. I'm planning to try the Claimyr service too after seeing multiple people confirm it actually works. The fact that this community exists and people are willing to share what actually gets results gives me hope that there are solutions even when the official channels seem completely broken. Hang in there - sounds like persistence and the right approach can eventually get through to them!

This entire thread has been a lifesaver! I'm currently on week 3 of pending adjudication and was starting to lose hope after countless failed attempts to reach DEO. @088b909597d2 thank you so much for coming back with your update - it's exactly what people like me need to hear right now. I'm definitely going to try the Claimyr service that @cc9ed8de0a02 recommended, and I've already changed my phone settings to accept unknown calls after reading @06113a3c669a's experience. It's incredible how much more helpful this community is than any official DEO resource. Going to proactively upload my separation documents too based on @1fc5995409a3's suggestion. Fingers crossed I'll have good news to share soon like you did!

•@311cf81ca4a4 I'm so glad this thread has been helpful for you too! I just wanted to jump in as someone who's been lurking and reading all these responses. I'm actually new to this community but dealing with my first unemployment claim ever and it's been incredibly overwhelming. Seeing how supportive everyone is here and how people come back to share their success stories like @088b909597d2 did really gives me confidence that there are real solutions. I'm only on week 1 of pending adjudication but I'm already implementing all the tips from this thread - accepted unknown calls, uploaded my layoff paperwork proactively, and bookmarked the Claimyr service just in case I need it. Thank you to everyone who's shared their experiences - it means the world to newcomers like me who don't know what to expect from this process!

This thread is absolutely incredible and gives me so much hope! I just filed my claim two weeks ago after being laid off from my job of 4 years, and I'm already seeing one week stuck in "pending-adjudication" status. Reading through everyone's experiences and solutions has been more helpful than anything I've found on the official DEO website. I've already implemented several tips from this discussion - changed my phone to accept unknown numbers, made sure all my contact info is current in CONNECT, and I'm keeping detailed records of my work search activities. @088b909597d2 your success story is exactly what I needed to hear right now, and @cc9ed8de0a02 thank you for sharing the Claimyr resource - I had no idea services like that existed. It's so reassuring to know there's a community of people who understand how frustrating and confusing this whole process can be. I'll definitely come back to update everyone on how my claim progresses!

•Welcome to the community! It's great that you're being proactive right from the start - that's going to save you a lot of headaches down the road. Since you're only two weeks in and already have one week pending adjudication, you're in a much better position than many of us who waited weeks before taking action. I'd also recommend documenting everything - screenshot your CONNECT dashboard regularly and keep a log of any calls you make or messages you send through the system. That way if you do need to escalate later, you have a paper trail. This community has been such a valuable resource for navigating DEO's confusing processes, so don't hesitate to ask questions as they come up!
