FL DEO Unemployment: Claim locked after multiple ID.me uploads, insufficient info emails - What to do?
I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. It says "locked" and I can't figure out why. I've uploaded my driver's license and social security card to ID.me twice already, but they keep sending me emails saying the information is insufficient. I don't think it's an issue with the clarity of my documents. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do when I talk to a rep about this?

have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk. but srsly, sometimes logging out of ur account, clearing browser cache, and trying again can help. worth a shot!

It sounds silly, but tech glitches are more common than you'd think. Sometimes a quick reset is all it takes!

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through when you're stuck in the system.

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find my local rep?

Just google "[your state] state representative" and you should find a website where you can enter your address to find your rep. Good luck!

Has anyone else noticed that the system seems to be worse on certain days? I swear Mondays and Fridays are the absolute worst for getting anything done.

Omg yes! I thought it was just me. Wednesdays seem to be the sweet spot.

This whole situation is a dumpster fire 🔥 I've been dealing with EDD for 6 months now. My advice? Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every email, every piece of mail. You never know when you'll need to prove you did something.

Yes! A paper trail can be your saving grace when trying to resolve issues with complex systems like this.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/AsdxiF0IH1k

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😡

Is this legit? Sounds too good to be true.

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Was desperate after trying for weeks to get through. Worth every penny tbh.

It's good to hear that Claimyr worked for you, but it's a shame such services have become necessary due to the system's inefficiencies. Having to pay $20 to reach support might not be feasible for everyone, and ideally, solutions should be accessible to all.

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure your ID.me account email matches the one on your unemployment claim. I had issues because they were different and it took forever to figure out.

That's a great point! Even the smallest differences in information can cause big issues in verification processes.

I'm in the same boat, friend. Been trying to get my claim unlocked for weeks. It's like they're speaking a different language sometimes. Hang in there!

Ugh, I've been there. The whole system is a mess. Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes you need to speak to a human to get this sorted out.

Here's what you need to do when you finally get someone on the phone: 1. Stay calm and polite. I know it's frustrating, but the person on the other end isn't personally responsible for the system's issues. 2. Clearly explain that you've uploaded your documents multiple times and keep getting the "insufficient information" message. 3. Ask them to specifically tell you what's wrong with your documents. Is it the image quality? Missing information? Expired ID? 4. Request step-by-step instructions on how to correctly submit your documents. 5. Get the name and ID number of the representative you're speaking with, and take notes during the call. 6. If they can't help, ask to speak with a supervisor or someone in the ID verification department. 7. Before ending the call, confirm what your next steps should be and when you can expect a resolution. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! 💪

Great advice! I'd add: record the call if your state allows it. Can be helpful if you need to follow up later.

This comprehensive list is gold! I'd also suggest checking out any online forums or communities specific to your area. Sometimes local experiences can clue you into specific issues or tips.

I had a similar issue. Turns out, there was a discrepancy between the address on my license and the one I used for my claim. Double-check all your info matches exactly.

If you're facing issues with your unemployment claim through ID.me, it might be helpful to note that even slight discrepancies in your documents can lead to them being rejected. This service is crucial for security, but it can be overly meticulous. When speaking to a representative, clearly articulate your problem and provide them with a summary of your situation. It's also worthwhile to verify that the images of your documents are clear and taken in good lighting. Consider using the Claimyr tool to expedite reaching a representative if it's within your budget. However, remember that this is a paid service, and you should weigh its cost against the potential benefits. Keep all information consistent across all platforms to avoid any mismatches, and regularly check your email for any communication from ID.me or the unemployment office. Stay persistent, and consider reaching out to your local representative if progress stalls. Good luck!

Plot twist: the unemployment office is actually run by a bunch of cats walking across keyboards. Would explain a lot tbh 🐱💻
